★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great staff, was there as a contractor doing a Fire System inspection on a hot day in a black uniform, the Backyard Bar staff could see i was roasting and got me a nice cool non alcoholic beverage, keeping me hydrated and working.
Thats the sign of good people.
Strongly recommend the Poenamo Hotel

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Stayed one night after nearby social function. Comfortable accommodation at reasonable rate. Room was clean. Had a firidge, basic crockery and cutlery, and free wi-fi. Also had a TV which was not working. A request for it to be fixed produced no apparent action. Free guest parking.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The location is very good and rooms are very clean and tidy. Services of staff were kind. The credit card was charged extra 2.5% that is very rare in the accommodate industries however.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Clean and tidy room with very comfortable beds. A bit tired. The shower is very high and tends to tilt in on itself to face the wall. There is a lot of noise from the onsite bar, which would make it difficult to stay with children. The pool looks clean but the fencing NEEDS repair. I saw two children, around 6 or 7 years old, climb through the broken "child-proof" gate and jump into the pool before their parents knew they'd done it. The broken bar had been positioned in such a way that it looked okay, but both children were able to simply pull it out. It's very concerning because if a child were to drown due to substandard fencing, the management could be liable for manslaughter. I hope that it never happens

I made an online booking for 2 single beds and when I arrived they had booked me a double, to rectify this I had to pay a further 40 dollars. well when we got in the room mold on the ceiling, marks on the carpet, rust bar stools,flaking paint but what was worse was the element on the hotplate was still dirty and the other element was full of flaky rust.
the furniture was marked. we decided not to shower as it wasn't clean. I am so disappointed as I could have stayed at sky city with what I paid. I would never stay here again and would certainly let anyone I know about this. yes I did go and tell management and they just said sorry.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Room is dated though very comfortable. Mums shower was not the greatest however she didn't tell us so we didn't know and I know the staff would have accommodated my mum. Cannot really fault location and super friendly staff

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great location. Beds and linens were clean and comfortable. The staff at the desk were friendly. The lady spoken to over the phone and email had poor English and was difficult to communicate with. The room was not the best, bad water damage by the bed with the wall rotting away. Shower was so filthy, I felt dirtier after the shower and the room was quite dusty and bathroom floor yuck

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ From 23rd May I stayed for five night in a poolside kitchen studio while my husband was in North Shore Hospital. I found the place old, dirty, nothing to wipe kitchen bench or microwave if there was any spills and no power point in bathroom. On day three when no house keeping had been done I asked at office and was told they did not clean during stays! Friday night the bar noise was annoying. The only good thing was a comfortable bed.
