Poivre & Sel is a French operated restaurant.
Samuel Goslin has a solid experience in numerous Europe’s hotels and restaurants. His modern french food combines classical cuisine with a contemporary approach to ingredients and technique. The flavours are clean, precise and intense with an emphasis on fresh local product and seasonality.
Severine's warm, attentive and professional service blends her years of knowledge and natural hospitality. She is there to assist you with your food and wine choices and guide you through your dining experience. The cellar concentrates on premium wines from New Zealand and France.

Set Menu with wine was superb. Wife couldn't believe parsnips could be so melt in mouth delicious. Bread, honey butter, beer braised pork belly -crisp and melt in mouth. Walnut wine stunning with Hohepa cheeses.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We really enjoy eating at restaurants that offer a good degustation menu so were excited to try Poivre et Sel. Overall our dining experience was ok but the food was a bit disappointing, 2 of the 6 courses were really nice but unfortunately the others were really lacking. The apricots served with desert were so unripe they were completely inedible and should have been left off the plate. We were told by the staff that it's hard to get good apricots but honestly if it's that hard then take them off the menu. The staff were friendly and the matching wines were good but based off our experience we won't be returning or recommending to anyone we know.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Decided to go for the set menu with wine pairing. We enjoyed ourselves for 2 hours, spoiled with delightful homemade dishes and French wines. Friendly service and warm family business setting. Napier is lucky to have Poivre et Sel, such a great experience and excellent value for money.
