The walk take around 5hr (return), the best is to rent a 4wd and have fun around the sand dunes.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Fantastic place to have a great adventure with a quad bike ride over miles of rolling sand dunes. You will come across a vintage light house, old ship wrecks, streams and deep sand cliffs, over which John; the quad bike hirer will take you like a breeze! :)

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The historical lighthouse on the rugged west coast out of Dargaville. Drove down the beach to the headlands over looking the Kaipara Harbour. You would need a four wheel drive vehicle with the soft sand and make sure of the tide in case you get trapped as the tide comes in. Stunning views out over the Tasman Sea.
