I decided to try Propel Cycles as it is close to home. Had an idea of what I wanted, but Justin could not have been more helpful. The electric bike discussed on a prior phone call was all set up and ready to take for a test ride when I arrived. All questions were clearly answered. Nothing was too much trouble, and I would unreservedly recommend going to them if you are in the market for an electric bike. Phil Macdonald AKL NZ

This is definitely a five star company. We recently bought a campervan and needed a couple of E bikes to go with it for our retirement travels. When we called Justin on Saturday afternoon and they were closing at 2pm, we said it might be a bit late to come now but he said he’d keep the shop open for us. Justin and Dave spent the next three hours helping us choose and set up the right bikes. Nothing was too much trouble for them and anything that needed adapting or changing they more than happy to oblige. We’d never actually ridden E bike’s before so Justin took us across the road with the bikes to Victoria Park and we had a great ride around the park with him trying out the new bikes. A couple of days later we visited them again regarding bike racks. They sold us the perfect one and went to a lot of trouble showing us how to connect it to our towbar because we had the wrong size and height towball. Thank you Justin and Dave! We really appreciate all your help and are so happy we chose to shop at Propel E Bikes. Ken & Sue Bird

Justin and team were very knowledgeable about bikes and the biking scene, with what seemed like a lot of experience both in urban and off road biking. They took the time to listen and understand our experience, situation, and needs, and helped us choose the appropriate bikes for our family. It was great to have Vic Park right across the road to take the bikes for a test ride in a safe, relatively car-free environment - it was also awesome to have College Hill right there to test the assistive power of the bikes. There's parking available near the shop, and the first year free service was super comforting for folks new to e-bikes. Can't recommend highly enough! Thanks Propel Cycles, we love our Terns!

Fantastic experience for my wife and I. We’d been to other bike stores and been turned off by the service. Here, Justin treated us with respect, spent at least an hour with us, and got us the best possible bike for my wife. Dave was super friendly with set up and has all the technological nous that bike newbies like us were sorely lacking. These lads combine top notch service along with stocking and selling what is widely considered the best e bike on the market. Thanks team, we’re stoked ?

Go in and see for yourself. I'm a new customer to these guys and dropped in out of curiosity - I'm now really glad that I did. I've ended up buying a fairly (for me) high end bike for a couple of reasons: when I went in I knew what I wanted to do with a bike, but not so much which bike would do that for me. I dealt with David who was very plain speaking, clearly knew what he was about, and after a ride and some chat - I bought a Focus e-roadbike. My decision wasn't pressured in any way, but reflected a sound discussion that landed on the bike that would suit my purposes best. In my mind I haven't just bought a bike, but because it was clear that they really stand up behind what they sell and service, I've believe that I also bought on the basis that I don't feel like one of a hundred-a-day customers. I'd bet hard money that if I rock up 6 months later, they'll remember my name, my bike, where and how I ride - and they'll filter all of that that into how they support my riding. They don't know it yet, but they're potentially going to be servicing some of my other bikes - don't let on. Another thing that was big for me was the fact that while I was enjoying myself yarning about bikes with a fellow enthusiast (the way we all love to to) my Mrs was busy minding her own business going through emails on her phone, and she was promptly offered coffee or water; I'm quite sensitive to how people behave towards her, and I really appreciated that they took note of her and tried to make her comfortable while I sussed out my ride. Lastly, these guys ride. They're not the kind of people who'd be just as happy selling washing machines. They're into bikes and without the snobby touch that some places fall into. They get why we all love doing this. I doubt my experience is unique. If you're up for bikes that are actually worth their price tags, and dealing with people who want the bike to be the right one for you, I'd strongly recommend giving these guys a go. They're handy to town, and you'll loose nothing by talking to them 5/5

Super excited to have picked up our first e-bikes from Propel Cycles today. Justin and David have provided amazing service from the get go! Extremely knowledgeable, the Focus is a fantastic bike, the team certainly went the extra mile- thank you. I highly recommend you speak to this team first if you’ve any bike needs.

We bought a new e-bike in December. The service from the team was unsurpassed. They gave us a backpack and a bottle of bubbly to celebrate which was nice. But importantly they have offered to service our bike for the next year at no charge. We also bought another e-bike on the same day from the North Shore (no shop had two of the ones we wanted) and that shop only offered us one free service and when I asked for a few more they said they would go out of business - well it only takes a little oil and a few adjustments so that was a surprise and quite disappointing considering the cost of the bike. But anyway - these guys are awesome.

Picked up my Focus Ja㎑ 6.7 ebike this morning. Justin was so good at listening to what I wanted the bike for, explained that a step-through wouldn’t give me a great ride. Just cause I’m 75 there was no reason I shouldnt have wheels that made the ride enjoyable. I left the shop and 67kms later got home. I didn’t want the experience to end. Thanks Justin glad I followed the recommendations to visit Propel.
