The recent state of Reading Cinemas Rotorua has gone down hill. From disgusting rooms filled with popcorn and sticky cup holders to the air conditioning not working. The worst of it all being recently they have "Sold Out" of popcorn. For the last 5 days nothing has been done to rectify this and sad excuses were made for lack of a better part poor management. A shame really... Truly disappointed

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Disappointed, he manager today at the cinema should have used common sense today and BEND the rules, and sold 4 tickets to an reel movie that wasnt even sold out (only 20 tickets pre sold and 12 of those to our friends that WERENT members).
We are trying to support a bussiness employing local people. Instead we will now be making the trip to Tauranga Crossing and will keep supporting the basement cinema.
As a bussiness at the end of the day you want more dollars in the till, we would have spent at least $100 today.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Management incorrectly told me when a movie was going to be screened . I was organising it for 20 kids. So huge let down for kids and parents.
2 additional Staff said they would ring back and didn’t. Georgia didn’t want to try and rectify or find out who made the mistake.
Cornelius tried his best to help.
Don’t recommend booking a big group and risking a big disappointment.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Saturday night was the third time in recent months when the movie theatre was incredibly, uncomfortably hot. It felt like they had turned off the aircon.
There was also no popcorn or medium/large drinks available, which is the best part of going to movies. The movie theatre also hadn't been cleaned before the session.
So, a very disappointing experience I'm afraid.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Went last Saturday too watch Dr strange, no popcorn no nothing really and the movie theater room we were in we were all sweating no aircon.
Movie froze about 6 times.
I went out complaining go supervisor more people wanted refunds part way through.
Now I don't want to blame staff or anyone buy enough enough, get it sorted I noticed some staff were acting oblivious but knew the problems.
The Supervisor was very helpful refunded my tickets and apologized about the whole thing.
The problem is with the owner of that place I reckon

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Movie theaters ok but toilets looked like they hadn't been cleaned for ages. Theatre didn't open until midday And 3 toilet cubicles Had none or hardly any toilet rolls in them plus the basins had hair and god knows what all over them. With covid more cleaning guys

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Sound system absolutely horrible in the cinema, no bass at all so end up with your ears hurting at the end of the film. Seem to be out of large or medium cups, or popcorn boxes and offer no alternatives and still try to charge you same price for smaller cups or popcorn. overall terrible cinema.
