★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Bouncers were acting big headed, singled me out in a group of 16 to be the most intoxicated and refused entry when i was actually the most sober one of the group, only to learn it was because i had a red tshirt on wake up!!!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ As a new visitor to Wellington (I'm here on a holiday to spend time with my family) I decided to take my brother out for a few drinks to celebrate being here. We were having a lovely night until we happened to end up in Red Square. We bought a couple of drinks and started to have a dance with a few friends on the dance floor, that was until a bouncer singled my brother out of a crowd and told him to leave (apparently he was too drunk, although he had only had 2 drinks for the entire duration of the evening) A girl behind us on the dancefloor had been falling off the stage into us for a few minutes and unfortunately it was too crowded to move away from her. I tried to explain this to the bouncer who refused to listen and decided to push my younger brother with some force out of the building. I tried to again explain that we were just there to dance and that there was no need for force as we were going to leave anyway. The bouncer then decided to push me as well. A friend of my brother had seen what had happened and followed us outside, he said the bouncer must be relatively new to the club as he knew the others and they we're a good bunch but this guy seemed to have a problem with simple communication. I still have no idea why he decided to single us out of a crowd of people who were quite obviously more inebriated than us (and possibly on drugs), and the unnecessary force that he used was honestly quite disgusting and I now wouldn't recommend ever stepping foot inside this establishment unless you enjoy being manhandled.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Had the best night out in a long time here on Friday & Saturday night. Having come from Christchurch this place was a big step up. Coming from a previous hospitality background, Red Square Bar exceeded my expectations. On The security were on point all night, very helpful and always checking up on us, the bar and floor staff new what we wanted before we wanted it. The sounds were off the hook, keeping the dance floor packed all night. We got the VIP treatment all night long. If you’re looking for somewhere to go in Wellington then this is the place. Thanks Red Square, we’ll see you soon!!
