Wellington History
Jugnu Gill opened his first restaurant in 1997. Jugnu arrived in New Zealand from New Jersey, USA. In his working life he worked as a Systems Engineer in Information Technology for 2 large corporations. First in London and then in the USA. Jugnu has always had a passion for food and hospitality. He wanted to open a restaurant in New Jersey, but it was not practical at that time.
His siblings, Dame Sukhinder Turner, Shammi Sandhu and brother Sukhmohan (Sukhi) Gill were already in Dunedin. Jugnu joined them in 1993.
It was a natural progression for Jugnu to help his brother with his business. Jugnu opened a restaurant in Queenstown with his siblings. and then owned and operated a Bar and Night club in Dunedin! A desire to branch out on his own eventually led him to Wellington.

β β β β β My partner and I ordered from here on Uber Eats tonight , firstly 3 items we ordered were missing from our order and while eating my butter chicken I pulled out this hair strand.
Was completely put off my appetite and super disappointed by this find. Would recommend being careful when ordering from here :(

β β β β β This must be one of the best Indian restaurants in Wellington. Generous helpings and 5 of us had different meals we shared and were impressed by them all. There is a cosy upstairs area.

β β β β β Beautiful Food - some of the very best Indian you will find (and for what it's worth - trust me, I've tried Indian from all over!). The service is outstanding and the atmosphere is amazing. Lots of space - you won't be crammed in here. Beautiful DΓ©cor with high ceilings - and OMG - did I mention the food ;)

β β β β β Disappointed.Have checked the menu before arrival. We were expecting a decent amount of the dishes considering the price. But then realized Tiny portion of butter chicken or other dishes for more than $20 ?οΌAnd it somehow tasted saltier than other places. Wouldn't recommend going here if u looking for sth cheaper.

My Naan was still raw
And worst of all my partner found a beard hair in her food. Disgusted with this place will never order from here again

β β β β β If you're pani puri lovers don't order it here! Food size not deserve with expensive price $10 because very less stuffs inside the ball, like nothing. Pani taste like water in green color. Even I give a comment to someone (probably manager) no even sorry or discount for disappointing food. Not recommended!!!
