This post is to acknowledge the amazing nursing team. I have had two after hour consults regarding early pregnancy in the last few weeks. The nursing team where incredibly empathetic and patient. Am so thankful for them supporting me through this time.

Their staff turnover on the reception is horrendous resulting in extremely bad customer service because they’re not trained properly. They also routinely close the clinic or have multi hour wait times due to overloading. Also going wayyyy overboard on the COVID-19 precautions which makes it an exhausting experience. We visited once for my son instead of going to 24 Hour Surgery and never again. The doctor did not listen to us and resulted in us having to go another doctor as our son had an ear infection that he did not pick up.

Just had my whole family move here but am finding it very difficult to call in order to get anything done. Getting a renewed prescription for my daughter took quite a few calls from me and my wife. We did get through to reception but it went to voicemail each time we were transferred onto the nurse. Tried to call to book a vaccine today but no pickup. It keeps ringing. I can't even book a physical consultation online due to COVID. I really don't wish to move again for the inconvenience but may have to. Reception can also be a bit blunt and unhelpful.

I went to the clinic for the first time for an emergency walk in appointment. While reception service was slow and difficult to communicate with, as soon as I saw nurse Alison my worries disappeared. She made me feel at ease, well looked after and communicated really well. What an amazing nurse to have as part of the team.

Absolutely amazing - Couldn't get an appointment with my normal GP due to the busy time of year and didn't feel it was serious enough to warrant an ED visit so walked into the Riccarton Clinic. The lady on reception was absolutely lovely and clearly explained how it worked. I was extremely lucky with the time of day being a quiet period so was seen very quickly by a nurse for triage and a doctor. The nurse was fantastic and very kind and reassuring. Dr Elodie was brilliant, super through and explained everything in great detail, took a number of tests to be safe & referred me for a scan which I received the same day. Saw yet another nurse for blood tests who was equally lovely as well as another lady on reception who was delightful. Received a follow up text that evening from the doctor and a phone call this morning from a nurse to check in to see how I had gone overnight. Could not fault absolutely anything and I felt heard and extremely well cared for. Please pass on my many thanks to everyone involved for making it such an easy and welcoming process.

Service was absolutely terrible. Entered the medical center and it wasn't to busy at all. It had a sign up saying they had a 90 minute wait time. We waited as we knew our son needed to see the doctor, After about 2 hours + - we were called up to see the doctor. My wife, 8 year old son and 4 year old daughter and myself waited in the doctors room for about + - 10 minutes. The doctor walked through the door and immediately pointed at my 4 year old daughter and 8 year old son and said "all right you and you please get some masks on " my 4 year old daughter said to her but I don't have to wear a mask. and the doctor replied "then you can go and wait in the waiting room and one of your parents could go with you if they want to" . My wife then said to her you could've said that in a nicer manner and explained to us why she wanted them to wear masks. She didn't reply. I then left with my daughter. Then after the appointment while my wife was walking out the door, she said to my wife "I hope I never have to see you again". Is this the way the health system is going. Where we get treated badly?

Absolutely appalling service. Fit to Fly - phone clinic to make a time to physically go in to book a time slot for your test. They didn’t have availability for days, rather than take my details over the phone and book the test slot, they insist you must go in. This process delay resulted in me missing a very specific window (during Christmas/Boxing Day) as they’re the only clinic offering this service on public holidays. This is nonsense?! Waiting in a crowded room full of people FOR 90 MINUTES all waiting to be allocated their test time - why on earth can’t this be done over email or phone?! Your β€˜process’ is creating a health hazard. It just doesn’t make sense. I received a call from the clinic to advise we’d in fact been overcharged for a rapid test and it was instead going to be treated as urgent (different status, rapid status costs extra) Which I did not initiate, as we wanted the fastest results possible. We had managed to secure the ONLY international flight home and would not have that jeopardized by messing around with processing test results. We were assured by testing staff on the day that the test would be turned around in time for our flight - and we’d have them the following morning. I had to phone the clinic multiple times as our results had not arrived by 1pm and they had to chase it up with the lab. The results eventually arrived with an hour to spare (around 2.20pm) after numerous calls to the lab and the clinic. The clinic phone line also cuts out regularly, it is very difficult to get through. When I finally did email the clinic requesting the refund of our apparent overcharge, the reception manager replied, disagreeing, saying we had in fact been charged correctly and apologized for the miscommunication. The entire experience has been incredibly stressful and just mind blowing. If you have the option to go ANYWHERE else, please take my advice and avoid Riccarton Clinic.

I recently had to attend the after hours clinic on a weekend, the receptionist was pleasant and helpful. I had a short wait and then was seen by a nurse Sarah. Sarah was professional, helpful and very informative. I felt reassured immediately! Another short wait and I saw Dr. Ruth. All in all it was a very positive experience and I can't fault the clinic in any way.
