We pride ourselves on being a GridFree, eco-friendly, self-sufficient farmstay accommodation. Our source of power for both houses is driven by solar. Rock Retreat is surrounded by native trees that Biddy and Rich have planted. Seed has been collected from Stubbs farm, nurtured and planted back into it’s natural environment for future generations to enjoy.

Be inspired by original artwork on display and for sale by Biddy. Trained at Otago School of Art, Dunedin, New Zealand. Biddy is constantly inspired by the ever changing beauty of her surroundings. You can check out her gallery of work here.
Take a moment to relax on your own private deck and watch the Tui and Bellbirds enjoy the flax. Look out for Kereru (wood pigeon) and the New Zealand Falcon.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Biddy and Rich provided the most cozy cute little eco-cabin in the mountain! Fresh and delicious breakfast were included! Plenty of firewood to keep us warm at night. Our little one loved the loft so much and just wouldn't stop climbing up and down, and the view from the cabin was great! Highly recommend it! No wi-fi which makes it great for internet/TV detox! However, there was full network coverage :)

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A lovely little gem. The views are absolutely amazing, and you get to roam through all the rock formations. The cottage is small, but very cozy and surprisingly warm, considering it was the middle of winter. The hosts are very friendly and welcoming. Next time we'll stay for to nights so we can explore the rocks some more!
