Beautiful and kind of secluded sight seeing location which can be easily missed if not paid attention to.
Amazing views.
The scenery compensates for all the tiredness on incurs to reach here.
Detailed history and information is provided through the boards.
Totally enjoyed it and worth visiting.
A word of caution - in case you are traveling from north towards south (Wellington, New Plymouth etc.), the connecting Waipuna Road is full of gravel for at least 8 KM driving over which feel like eternity. Instead you may want to return on SH3 via Te Anga road in order to continue your journey.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great site to stay. Stopped overnight on way north. Excellent location. Fabulous facilities. Spotlessly clean and well run. Nice and spacious area. Good value. Highly recommend.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Stopped by here in February 2019, just like everyone else said, there's no view at all due to the overgrown trees. If you are driving from Waitomo Village, drive another minute down the road, there's a corner on the left by the road side has excellent view.
