About Te Tiro Accommodation
Your hosts:
Angus, Rachel, Max and Pippin Stubbs. Angus and Rachel have thirty years of adventure tourism experience between them and would be happy to help organise your stay in Waitomo.
Angus was born in Waitomo and grew up exploring the magical limestone landscape of the area. After gaining a degree in Earth Science he travelled through Europe and Africa, eventually returning to take up a position as an Adventure Guide for the original "Black water rafting" company.
Rachel was born in Waitara and at the age of 18 became captivated by the beauty and engery of Waitomo. Over the last 13 years she has worked as a guide for the orignial "Black water rafting" company, in the sport and leisure industry and as an Events Planner with the local District Council. Travel has also played a big part in her life with numerous trips to Australia, America and Great Britian.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Nice cottage with a super view. The glowworms which were just a 5 minute walk away are a nice bonus. On the flip side is that you need to go outside to go to the toilet (it rained) and the breakfast was just ok (provided the day in advance)

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Angus was very welcoming. He posted a note on the door as they were getting ready to go to dinner... I arrived just in time to meet him.. the cabin was lovely. Just perfect for me.. highly recommend for a romantic retreat. First light travel made this reservation for me so I would be close to my adventure the following morning... the Waitomo caves the lost world...

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We loved staying here. On the drive out of Waitomo I was getting a bit nervous and wondering if I had made a mistake....then we arrived and the view was phenomenal. The kids *loved* the loft arrangement, we were comfortable on our queen bed (nice sheets and comfortable pillows), and the thoughtful breakfast touches were perfect. The pictures don’t really do it justice. They have done a great job making a small place cozy and comfortable (family of 5 + dog), and everything is super clean. At night we walked down to see the glowworm grotto and it was amazing! Such lovely hosts, we look forward to coming back.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Angus met us late night for check-in and he was so welcoming. He told us about the little glowworm cave he had and that was a fun little adventure we had at night.
The rooms and beds were comfy. We had free breakfast food and the detached bathroom was nice and clean. Super happy with staying here!
