★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Kelley is amazing! I gave her quite the difficult task of fixing a terrible (and already too short) haircut. She listened to my concerns and we discussed ways of recreating a more modern cute style and blending in the bad chunky layers I had which were making me look like I had a pumpkin shaped head. We also did a full head of highlights to bring back my blonde that was cut off the ends. It was my first time doing any kind of coloring and I could not be happier with my results. Kelley made me feel super comfortable and at ease the whole way through. Super professional and personable. Will definitely be going back again and asking for Kelley:) Thank you so much!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I went is looking for someone who specializes in blonde. One of the stylists looked and laughed and said that doesn’t exist. She was beyond rude. Won’t recommend more will I go back.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Really friendly lovely stylist however sadly it wasn’t the same as the style I requested. I had said during and after that there wasn’t enough volume and she wasn’t able to fix it. Also about 10min after I left it was started to fall out and was flat. I’ve taken it out now and sadly just wearing my hair down.. not impressed since I had to pay $49 for this. I had even sent in the pictures before my appointment to make sure whoever was doing it was able to recreate it. Photos below.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I had an amazing visit at Rodney Wayne, Whangarei. I would highly recommended this salon to anyone, from the moment I was greeted I felt very welcome, and it was obviously that the staff are like a family. The salon atmosphere is professional, warm, clean and very inviting. I was most impressed with the sit down consultation that my stylist Kelley gave. She took the time to listen and was very knowledgeable which made me feel comfortable and confident. I would highly recommend the L'oreal smartbond and Kerastase fusio dose treatment, including a massage to die for. My hair looks and feels amazing.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I am very disappointed in my visit to Rodney Wayne Whangarei. The stylist didn't introduce herself so I couldn't tell you who took care of me, consultation was below average, asked me what I wanted, I explained and she replied ok come over to basin ? great feed back ?♀️ Hair cut was completely text book layers that took 5mins. Blasted of blow dry, not a round brush in sight, then walked to get the straightener. I was having my hair curled so I knew the cut needed to be check now or never. I asked if shes done cutting and she replied yes ? Skills are limited. No personalising the shape, no cutting techniques, no checking the cut at all and couldn't even operate the ghd styler sufficiently to create soft curls. I am very disappointed ? Rodney Wayne head office need to come down to little old whangarei and do some serious training with these ladies.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I went in to pamper myself with my first haircut since giving birth to my son and was looking forward to getting my long thick hair cut a bit shorter and thinned out a bit. I showed this picture to Sophie a senior stylist and sadly ended up crying over my haircut, I can’t even blame the post-pregnancy hormones as I think this would have set me off anytime. I somehow got given a side fringe (which I haven’t had for 15 years), and she kept cutting it (unevenly) all the way back to my ear. I wasn’t even upset that what I got was way shorter than I asked for or that it was nothing like the style I asked for, what upset me was looking forward to get my hair cut and leaving looking like I cut my own hair during lockdown. I will say that Kelley on the other hand was great, she stepped in to talk to me after my cut and was very understanding. She did try to fix the cut Sophie did on my hair, obviously she couldn’t work miracles and glue the hair back on but I appreciated the attempt and she had a friendly and helpful approach. Kelley is the reason I gave 2 stars instead of 1.
