The AF Drinks Story
AF Drinks exists to help the sober curious explore a different relationship with alcohol. Like Rodney Wayne, AF Drinks celebrate a world that respects individual choices, where it’s OK to make your own decisions and to do that with confidence.
AF Drinks was created in 2020 by Lisa King – most well known as founder of kiwi social enterprise Eat My Lunch. When Lisa cut back on alcohol, she became more aware of the sober curious movement, and the things that made it hard to cut back on alcohol, even when we want to.
AF Drinks exists to make it easier. To help the sober curious explore a different relationship with alcohol. By creating a conversation and community for the sober curious and normalising an alcohol free lifestyle. And by creating alcohol free drinks that give people a delicious, sophisticated, adult option when they’re not drinking alcohol.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I went to Rodney Wayne Chartwell a few years ago to get a balayage/ombre done. What a nightmare. The person that did the consultation and saw the pictures of what I had in mind was not the person that coloured my hair. Instead, someone else did it and made me look like I had bad regrowth. It was not what I asked for, and nothing like the pictures I showed to the person who took the consultation. The colour was also way to light for my dark hair, started too high, and did not blend. I spend hundreds of dollars over the last few years making it look presentable until I eventually cut it off. Do not go to this salon, there are many alternative salons in Hamilton that have great hairdressers.

I have long think hair and was after a nice layered cut even showed a picture to the stylist for what look I was after..The colour was good however my haircut was a disaster..ended up with a flat choppy cut really blunt and short cut.I was not happy at all and will definitely never go back there..

Stylists standing at counter chatting to each other.
Had my grand children waiting for me. I left never to return. Very poor customer service esp when I was told they were busy.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ RW Style Express (L1/upstairs). We went in the afternoon. Hair dresser was nice but chair, counter, clippers were dirty. Complete opposite to the RW Salon (downstairs/ground floor). My partner asked for a trim but the cut was shorter than requested. This place definitely lacks skilled hair dressers. This was our 1st & last visit. I would recommend Just Cuts next door.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Made a same day appointment about a month ago - colouring done to my hair was beautiful, but the haircut was not.. I told the woman what I was after but she didn’t really listen to me. I only discovered this a day later when washing the styled “curls” she’d done out of my hair. Very choppy cut - not even at all. I just wanted a trim following the layered style I already had and came out with a totally different shape. The only reason I’d go back is for colour touch up, but unfortunately I’ll be looking elsewhere...
