Our routine clinics run Monday – Friday 7.30am – 10pm, Saturday 8am – 6pm and Sunday 9am – 6pm. Outside of these hours you can attend Lower Hutt After Hours, or your local Emergency Department.
If it’s an EMERGENCY and you or someone else needs IMMEDIATE medical attention, then ring 111 straight away.

Lower Hutt After Hours Medical Centre was established in 1991 by the Hutt Valley GPs. They are a combined after-hours service, created to provide a facility for patients to see a GP outside of regular clinic hours.
Lower Hutt After Hours operate on a ‘no appointment necessary’ walk-in clinic. Patients are seen in order of priority.
All after hours consultations are free for 0 – 14 years olds.

Weekends: 8.00am – 9.00pm
Public Holidays: 8.00am – 9.00pm

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ My medical experience has been good. However the availability of seeing my GP has been appalling. There is normally a delay of two weeks before I can see them. I realise if acute I could be seen. I have belonged to the practice for 48 years and had excellent treatment from Dr Stokes and Irene Forsyth. When Irene left I was put on Connie Pragassums list. My treatment has been good but because of the unavailability I have seen many others,all who have been good. However from the patient's point of view it is most unsatisfactory seeing so many different doctors, particularly as you get older. Therefore I would appreciate a change of doctors to one that is more available ,so I can have some repore with.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This happened to me twice this year only.
I always rang when booked for an appointment. I always wrote the date and time on a piece of paper.
Today I arrived in Ropata my appointment is wrong again.
I’m not sure if I’m deaf or the lady I’m talking on the phone when booking is dreaming.
Next time Ropata should send a confirmation text. I’m supposed to be working today but I feel I need to see a doctor because my Bp is very low and feeling wobbly but was told my booking is for another week.
Better cancel and search in google for help.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I had a doctors appointment which went well however I decided to book an appointment with a nurse to freeze off what looks like a wart. The receptionist was terrific and managed to fit me in at short notice but when I saw the nurse she imedeatly recognized that it was not a wart and would need to be seen by a doctor. Very professional and helpfull service all around. I will make an appointment to have it properly assessed later.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Using the manage my health app, booking appointments is efficient & quick. Confirmation txt received soon after booking. Waiting areas are modern, relaxed, clean & orderly. All notes records etc are uploaded to the app soon after the appointment. Check in and check out is quick effortless.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We were 10minutes late for a daughter's immunizations once so they made us rebook. Last 5 times we've been there they've been 20-30min+ late to our appointments and that's not a problem for them. Doctors are great.??

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Some of the staff here are your average Joe, but there are others that really make you feel they care. Stacey was one of my most favourite people I have ever come across in the NZ health services. She was so lovely, welcoming and considerate. Its a shame I only got to see her for my initial Ropata consultation, but if her work sees this- she deserves a raise for sure ❤️
