I'd give it five stars if dogs were allowed to do the walk.
The pa site is one of the few areas dogs should genuinely not be allowed, but the gravel walk is such a missed oopportunity for our canine friends.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is a must see for anyone. The history is there and the markings on the land are so heart wrenching (tino pouri). The wairua..... But the view is also outstanding.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Ruapekapeka pa itself is well documented and easy to navigate. This pa was built by my tupuna!
The single toilet however is a long drop and there is no water to wash your hands. There is no rubbish bin in the carpark. Lets a wonderful experience down.
