Safran Cafe is located in the heart of Newmarket and offers a relaxed mediterranean atmosphere with alfresco dining and cozy indoor dining options.
At Safran we are influenced by the Mediterranean way of cooking, the changing seasons and the abundance of New Zealand produce. Our meat, fish and seafood are cooked on the chargrill and wood-fire then paired with the best cheeses, herbs and flavours.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A few of us come here every time we come to Auckland for work and this is the best restaurant I have ever been too. The quality of food and the service is consistently perfect. I have had the same meal on different occasions months apart and they taste exactly the same. Usually come here for multiple meals in a day, and even come back for breakfast the following day before heading home. Always look forward to coming back!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is a regular of ours and with good reason - we have never had anything other than a good experience here. The menu is varied with something for everyone and the food is excellent whatever your choice. But the real difference here is the atmosphere and the staff. It has a casual, relaxed atmosphere but with tremendous service. On our last visit our host, Sokol, was friendly, humorous and respectful and the wait staff - three of them - were attentive, efficient and cheerful without being imposing. We highly recommend it.
