β β β β β This is an experience like no other! Being able to be an arms length away (safely) is truely an incredible feeling. Mike and the team were very hospitable and informative. They provided food and drinks onboard and had all the gear you needed to have the best day out! Couldnβt have asked for anything more. Thanks Shark Experience!

β β β β β We had a fantastic day diving with Shark Experience, but more than that, they went above and beyond to make everything happen.
On Friday the weather report was not true to the actual weather, Nicky kept us informed of the situation and the delays, and when we did set out, the captain made the right decision (no matter how much fun we were having in the 5m swells ?) and turned us around as he felt it was unsafe.
Because we were already booked to go to Rakiura/Stewart Island, we paid extra for a pick up from the island and went on Sunday. The crew were so accommodating picking us up, and at the 11th hour a 4.8m beautiful shark turned up. They got us all in to see her and it was amazing being in the water with her.
They then got us back on time for what was supposed to be our taxi pick up but when Blue Star Taxi's did not show up, Nicky was on the phone to them trying to work out what happened, and then called a taxi for uis with CABI Taxi's Invercargill (who is wonderful and I wish we had used her the whole time).
I can't express how aboveb and beyond the Shark Experience team went for us, and how much it meant. Thank you so much!

β β β β β If your going to spend $300 on the sight seeing donβt bother. I have spent 2 years travelling in New Zealand and this would be the most overpriced thing I have done so far. The screen to view the live footage of the sharks was broken which is one of the main things promised on the web site as a siteseer. I have noticed they have taken it off now probably due to my complaint. Me and my partner did arrive late on the day, and when I emailed to ask about getting some money back as everything promised on the website was not delivered, they informed me that if I had been there on time they would have let me know the camera wasnβt working. This would have been too late anyway as I had already spent time and diesel travelling 3 hours to bluff. They also told me they would have been open with me if I had asked about it on the phone. I wouldnβt have thought to ask if all the equipment on board was working when I booked, as I thought this was a given. Seeing the sharks for a bit from the boat was good and if they had charged $100-$150 it would have been a fair price for what you get.

β β β β β Had a fantastic shark cage dive trip with Shark Experience. We saw three sharks and they fortunately hung around for a long time. The crew were very friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. The tasty hot Southland cheese rolls they provided were very welcome after spending a while in the cage! If you are interested in wildlife viewing I highly recommend this trip.

β β β β β We had beautiful bluff weather. Fog in the morning and stunning sunny afternoon. All the team were helpful and I found the waiting time peaceful. The day is spent moving between calm, quiet islands and ocean... and then a hive of a activity when the sharks arrive. Was really a magic day. Awesome creatures. Felt really safe but at the same time awed! Highly recommend this bucket list activity.

β β β β β What an experience! Iβve done a lot of neat tourist activities in the South Island but this takes the cake. Early morning start, lovely lady in the office with music pumping was awesome, team on the boat were awesome. We saw 4 or 5 sharks total and spent ages underwater, think I went down 3 or 4 times total and loved every moment. Boat was great, food was great and good quality dive gear. Highly recommended to anyone looking to tick this off their bucket list. A+

β β β β β Great day out yesterday with Shark Experience! Two beautiful great white sharks showed up for us. One of the most graceful beings I've seen underwater. Shark Experience crew were fun, informative and professional. They made sure all of us gets the chance to get a good look at the sharks. Safe and fun encounter for both humans and sharks. This is a great way to gain awareness about these apex creatures and respect them even more. Thanks Shark Experience! Highly recommend!

β β β β β This was a bucket list goal of mine, which I'm so glad I got to tick off! Nikki was wonderful to talk with in the morning and was super friendly and helpful, and the crew (Mike, Macca, and Jordan) were great. The forecast was different to what we actually got, but thankfully wasn't too bad, and we were treated to the most amazing sunrise on our way out to the dive spot.
We had two sharks turn up pretty much as soon as we'd done the regulator training, and they were stunning to watch. It was pretty rough in the cage (thank you unexpectedly rough conditions), but well worth being tossed around a bit to see these apex predators. Any other day I'd celebrate seeing dolphins so close - but as they scared the sharks off (apex predators, but only when the dolphins aren't around...) we ended up heading to shelter to wait out the passing weather cell.
Kudos to the crew, after we returned to the spot it took three hours for them to lure another shark in, and they didn't give up - sadly it didn't hang around for long, and it headed back to shore. It was a bit disappointing, but that's nature for you. I fully intend to do the dive again, when it's a bit warmer, and I'll be dragging my dad along with me! The only negative comment I have is it's a pity the screen wasn't working on board (due to a shark having a munch on the camera a few weeks before) - we had a day tripper, and unfortunately for her she didn't get to see much as they weren't really near the surface most of the time. As my grandma now wants to do the day trip with me (!!), I'll be making sure to ask before the day if it's working to ensure it's worth bringing her along.
Thanks again guys, it was an awesome day!
