COVID-19: In the event that Social Kitchen is forced to close due to being notified as a place of interest or our staff are considered close contacts; your bookings may be cancelled at short notice. We thank you for your understanding and if you are inconvenienced by this we apologies in advance.
Big groups: If your party is proving popular and you have ten or more guests you are required to choose from one of our three set menus designed by our head chef. Our shared family style* environment will keep the food and conversation flowing. Lucky us, we’ve tried and tasted it all and know what’s great and will work for a group. All we need from you is confirmation of your numbers (as this is the amount you will be charged for on the night) and to let us know if any guests in your group have dietary requirements.
Payments: All groups larger than 6 must go on one tab. If you don’t want to pay for the bottle of champagne ‘Sharon’ finished by herself we are more than happy to print out several invoices so you can proceed with electronic banking transfers amongst your group.
Things change: If extras want to join in or friends aren’t up for the occasion please be in touch with us so we can be ready and alter your booking number, we are small and popular so the number you book for is the number we need to charge for*.
Cakeage: We charge a $10 cakeage if you are wanting to bring a birthday cake to the restaurant. Please let us know at the time of booking.
Cancellations: If you need to cancel your booking or reduce your numbers, sniff sniff, please give us a call the day before.
Running late: We are only able to hold your table for 15 minutes, if you are going to be late please let us know so we can keep other socialites away from your table.
*Charged amount for a group is based on the set menu price per person. We’re sure your mates won’t let you down.

β β β β β The food is delicious. Flavorful, well prepared and absolutely worth it! And, there's a good selection of beverages to go along with it.
Everything we ate was delicious! But my person favorites were their roast carrots and the chicken pobleano. A side note, the pobleano was not like what we were taught and ate in Mexico, but delicious none the less! Their lamp rump was tender, their gnocchi was airy and the blue cheese in the sauce was not over powering. Their broccoli waldorf was smokey, but the best I've had.
What was off putting to us was the decor. Too many dead animal heads around the place! And, we almost didn't go due to the pictures of animals smoking on the menu. The restaurant was also loud (I guess that's the social part of the name) and very crowded with very little room between guests. I was seated well under a meter away from the person behind me. I guess that doesn't matter in the traffic light settings, but it did make me uncomfortable in this current day and age.

The decor in some parts of the restaurant is questionable and tacky just no need really. Our waitress was very new, maybe 3days in, so ordering was a little fragile but she did do a great job and earned her tip. two staff had a discussion at the end of the bar right behind us about their hours which is a big no no as it ruins the illusion. Music stopped for a time too, bar staff member wearing a Metallica t-shirt which was odd for this establishment, my guess, called into cover, knew his way around id say old school hospo...If the food had not of been so fantastic this might have been a 3or4 star but the food is unreal, spoke for itself. Restaurant was pretty full for a Monday night.

β β β β β Great food and wine selection- the brussel sprouts were a complete surprise and delight with the slow cooked pork belly. We also loved drinking a NZ Montepulciano. Only a very small comment - service oversight could improve in the patio area.

β β β β β Recommended by the locals. Lovely experience to have dinner here with friends. Quick service and 5/5 customer service! The food was amazing! Great selection of vegetarian as well. Great selection of wine and drinks. Very cool ambience and wall decor. Best to reserve a table just in case they fully booked. Really recommended!

β β β β β Happy that my 5 year old daughter found something to eat as she is very picky and it could have turned out to be a very expensive evening. This place is not cheap, but the food makes up for the price. Absolutely amazing food and the service was great too. I would love to see colouring books and crayons for the kids to keep them entertained- might not be that professional from the outside but you will make a huge difference to parents. You will see us again.

β β β β β This place was amazing! We were recommended by two friends who recently visited NP. friendly staff and absolutely delicious food. We had a hard time deciding what to have the menu was very extensive and everything we have was just so beautifully cooked! 5 star what a find. ?

β β β β β This place didn't disappoint,, we were greeted with friendly staff and the food was absolutely delicious. We got prawn cutlets and bbq lamb hearts to start (we wanted to be adventurous and the hearts were actually very tasty), and then had the beef cheeks and gnocci and salad for sides. The portions were huge! But oh so yummy you'll still wanna empty your plates ?
