Cons
The kitchen was very dirty, even the morning afterwards, things were still there to be cleaned. Toilets were alright but run down.
What bothered me more was the very high prices to sleep in a place that is a Backpacker not even well maintened!! I wouldn't call it Eco-retreat or hotel at all. This is definitely a Backpacker, no matter which type of accommodation you choose.
Pros
If you like to pay higher price than standard for a Backpacker with nice gardens, than it's for you. Views are beautiful but only actually the cottage can benefit from it

β β β β β The cafΓ©, view and dogs were great BUT would not recommend the accomodation; the eco concept is very appealing but the place is just a glorified hostel with facilities on their last legs. Stayed 4 nights in a private caboose (decent), the kitchen (where the only power sockets are btw) was in a constant mess with bins overflowing and flies everywhere, leaking fridges full to the brim, and the 4 bathrooms (for way too many guests) have seen better days. Not to mention the woofers/long-termers are way over it and it feels like being in their space. I mean if I book a hostel I get it but this is not what's advertised.

β β β β β Stunning soulful retreat nestled conveniently close to Manu Bay and Raglan town, the accommodation was meticulously cared for and all the little things thought of.
My girlfriend and I stayed in the Eco Bach and it was so awesome!

β β β β β Stayed in the powered site van but it was shocking considering we paid $52 for 2 people for a night to park the van. Its a parking gravel area, enough space for parking. We'd rather stay in the cheapest campsite. Hope they reduce the fees as the kitchen itself doesn't have an oven and always full of woofers. The good thing is the toilet and warm shower are very close to the parking area and they have fresh water from the mountain. The cafe has a great view. The ivy cottage and some other accommodation look good but very little outdoor space, but good for the price itself. Thanks for the happy woofers who keep the toilet and bathroom tidy. ??

β β β β β A train carriage redone into a studio unit. Without doubt the worst shower Iβve ever experienced, (and that includes throwing a bucket of water over myself) A rooster that screamed ALL NIGHT, a kitchenette β that is unusable - we were unable to boil water thanks to a pan that leaked. A fridge that was hard to determine if it was cooler inside or outside of the white box. We abandoned our trip and left after one night. If youβre looking for a nice, clean, quiet secluded getaway with a reasonable price tag β look elsewhere.

β β β β β Amazing view of the ocean as your perched on a cliff looking down at everything. Not a party hostel but has that nice balance where everyone is social and will have afew drinks in the evening but you can still count on getting a good nights sleep.
This is a bit out of the town so consider transportation, I had a motorcycle so I was good but getting to town on foot is a bit of a trek.

β β β β β Beautiful location, view, concept. It's really just the restaurant and yoga studio with the nice views. The old train carriages and earth domes are a clever concept. I stayed for a weekend with my partner and splurged a little to get the small earth dome, which was very basic and not cheap. The mattress was old and worn after just two nights my back ached like hell from the moment I woke up. The kitchen/lounge is unloved and dirty. No proper wash rags and very basic, not worth the price, the shower was terrible and the lights in the outdoor toilets didn't work. Not worth the money.

β β β β β What a magical location. High on a hill overlooking the ocean. We enjoyed the train carriage for accommodation and a beautiful clean kitchen (with adequate fridge facilities). There are only 2 showers but the limited facilities fit the vibe of the place.
Make sure you walk down to the beach. Itβs a scenic and steep 2km walk down. Also check out the stream on the property, past the tipi - itβs great for a dip.
We visited as part of the Solrise gathering and loved the creative atmosphere. Plenty of spaces for dancing and yoga.
A must visit if you want some peace and to re energise.
