β β β β β We been there today to order chole bhathure. When I was placing order chef was continuously saying he cannot cook them as he is busy in doing some other stuff. We request him to take his time and we are happy to wait as we come especially from the city to eat there. But he denied and said it can take upto 2 hours wait. Seriously!!!
No respect for customers.

β β β β β Terrible. The entire plate was luke warm at best. Very colourful but not a whole lot of flavour. I couldn't even taste the spice in a medium curry. The naan bread was an excessively thick doughy slab with no flavour and also cold. The rice had an unusual off-putting taste but was nice and fluffy. On the upside no lines so fast service. For the high price I expected a whooole lot more

The food was cold so I recommend if you eat here do it when they are busy.

β β β β β I would never go to this place again, Food was horrible and I do not know that Guy, who was a manager or owner was rude as, first they have taken money for the order and after waiting for 10 mins when I went to pick the order, he said that item is not available i was like, seriously you should have told me that at the time of taking order, he said take another item its the same thing , LOL NO IDLY IS NOT SAME AS VADA , and he was rude and unprofessional about it and made me feel that its my fault that they do not have an item available, Dude you are in hospitality industry and at least you can know is HOSPO smile if nothing else.

β β β β β Buying a curry from Spice Traders is often a risk. When they get it right, they are packed full of flavour, when they don't, the sauces taste like lightly flavoured water. The Westfield Queensgate store has a high success rate, but the North City Store has been shocking. In what must be over 10 visits now, the curries are consistently over watered down which is surprising given that their prices are often on par or slightly higher than Indian restaurants for a dish. Every time I come to this stall, I say I'll try it again and the risk never pays off. If you are looking for good or even mediocre Indian food, this isn't the place for you.

Normally, I don't post reviews but after reaching the review page, I realized I should share my experience also and should check reviews about the place first. This time I'm doing so since the staff at the Porirua shop disappointed me so greatly. We visited yesterday and ordered masala dosa & Chilly Paneer. Initially, they were very friendly while taking orders. We asked for a small portion of food whereas they charged for standard size which was ok for us as sometimes it happens. When we started eating our meal after receiving our order, we noticed it was non-vegetarian. I asked the employees about it, they didn't think it was a big deal that they were serving non-veg to vegetarian customers. The guy at the front (maybe the manager) was very rude. They didn't even offer an apology for their blunder. I know somehow it sounds like not to post about it but my concern is "WHY". Some customers do not prefer eating non-vegetarian due to religious beliefs, allergies, or many more reasons, staff can't simply smile and say ok we will get your correct order ready immediately. I'm not sure how this will help staff members to understand that it is really not good feeding customers what they do not want to.
