About Denny's
Harold Butler and Richard Jezak opened a donut stand in 1953 and called it Danny’s Donuts Lakewood, California. Butler’s stated promise was “To serve the best cup of coffee, make the best donuts, give the best service, offer the best value and stay open 24 hours a day.”
That single donut stand from the 50’s is now a restaurant chain with a slightly different name and a proven reputation for keeping Mr. Butler’s original promise. Currently there are more than 1700 restaurants worldwide.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Despite it being a public holiday and midly busy, the service was okay. We had to ask multiple times to get a high chair for our child, in the end we got it ourselves. Food was great but my cholesterol may have increased afterwards.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Arrived and seated at 10:30am.. it’s now 11 and one table server finally decided to come to our table. We can understand that they are under pressure with orders and obviously being under staffed. She respectfully explained to us that the kitchen is over loaded with orders. She also informed us that she will return to take our order in 5 minutes (to give the staff and kitchen time to catch up with current orders). We asked if we could order drinks. She said no…. I mean you don’t have to cook a jug of water…

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The hot fudge brownie cake is their top seller. I ordered the tbone steak which was cooked beautiful with a side salad. The ribs are a hit with our family too falls right off the bone. Wish their buffalo wings were actually spicy instead of being drenched in sweet chilli sauce but still delicious.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Five stars for customer service. There were a few Pasefika ladies serving and they were so friendly and helpful and obliging. It made the whole experience a lot better. Unlimited coffee is always fabulous as well. Food was the part that was a little average, but that's fine for a family restaurant and for the very cheap prices offered.
Overall, good experience for me at Dennys.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ One of my and my wife's personal favourites for ita American road house feel. Great food variety and friendly service. They cater for Breakfast lunch and dinner. If you haven't been there it's a definite "must do".

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A good place to go if you're a lover of breakfast food and hearty serving. Good for big boys like me. However their other adventurous menu like the chicken curry does not live to expectations. I would say stick to the American themed food and you'll be very pleased. Would have given it a five star were it not for the curry, it was cooked well but it was just not the curry that I typically expect.
