We bake everything on-site and pride ourselves in making everything from scratch using the best ingredients. We are famous for our cakes, cupcakes, macarons and cheese scones. Gluten free options available.
About Spongedrop
Sweet People
Founder and long-time lover of baking, Dani Cubis, always dreamed of having a space where she could spend her days creating delicious baked goods to share with family and friends. She’s created this in Spongedrop.
Named after the small baked sponge cakes (from the classic Edmonds Cookbook) she used to make as a child, Spongedrop Cakery is where people come to treat themselves and their loved ones.
Each of the Spongedrop team add their own special touch to what we do - be that through a passion for baking or cake decorating, a love of coffee or a love of customer service. If you swing by you could be greeted by Dani, Caitlin, Jessie, Ash, Heaven, Ruby, Elsie, Mia, Elric or if you’re really lucky, little Miles!

A special call out to Dani who helped us bring our ideas and vision to life in the most delicious cheesecake that got completely annihilated. We emailed them a week out from the wedding having almost given up on the idea of a stacked cheesecake for the wedding and they nailed it! Super cool people, easy to deal with and they even went out of their way to look after the maid of honour who picked up the cheese cakes on the way up to the wedding.
Thank you team, we loved it!!!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Let me start off by saying that this place sells THE BEST lemon cupcakes I’ve ever had in my life!! It’s so hard to find good lemon flavoured cake options and they’re absolutely aced it ? the blondies and brownies also never disappoint. I always like to drink their wonderful iced lattes with my cupcakes to balance out the sweetness. Definitely recommend eating here if you have a sweet tooth! They also have loads of gluten free options.

Lovely spot and great selection of sweet (and a few savoury) yummies. I took home the choc, caramel and peanut butter brownie to share with my fiance and we loved it! Definitely going back

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The cake I ordered was not good at all. Shocking to pay $120.00 for this kind of cake that has no quality and very tiny as well, I wonder why I received the mini one. Did not bother to ask its not worth spoiling my day. I expected it to be special but it was so plain. Honestly, the cake from countdown would taste a lot better. When I had the first bite, its just taste very cheap, that I would not want to finish the small slice. so sad, the cake was just a waste. I will stick to the cakery I know that takes pride on their cakes. Looks great on the website, that’s just common now marketing is excellent but the products are not. I hope they will address this concern. It’s not just right. The cinnamon roll I got from the cafe was delicious. wonder why the cake wasn’t? That cake worth only $30 or less but still I woud not pay anything for it. Sorry to give this comment. but it would be good if you will know the customer’s feedback. Thanks

From the the thoughtful cake care instructions (cute!) and the little piece of non-slip material to keep our cake safe. All the way to a most beautiful cake and oh my gosh- so delicious!
