★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A fun&safe flight from Invercargill to Stewart Island and return.Holds ten people including the pilot great views over Stewart Island and landing strip.Courtesy coach with trailer waiting for passengers to take them to the Stewart Island Airport building.Clean bathroom facilities.Very friendly staff so pleased to help and give useful information about the island.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We did the overland trail that included a flight to Masons Bay and a water taxi from freshwater hut. It was amazing. Our pilot was just great. He dropped us off at the gutter which has been the highlight of my 6 month stay in NZ. The ride was fun and offered great views of the island. The woman who booked our tickets for us was very friendly and offered great advice. The other post office employee was knowledgeable about the region and great to chat with. Thanks to everyone who made this hike happen! Our pictures don't do it justice.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Conveniently located in Halfmoon Bay. After landing in Stewart Island (from Invercargill), you will be shuttled from the landing strip to this building. For flights back to Invercargill, check in inside main building/post office. They will also drop you off at the landing strip.
P.S. If you need to go to the toilet before your flight, there’s one by the Library just a few meters away.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ For a small carrier couldn't be a better operation. Very slick. Easy check in and baggage handling.
Try to be last on as you get a better window seat.
And be careful of the 15kg baggage allowance.
On Stewart Island there is a shuttle bus from the airfield to town. No facilities at the airfield.
Flight doesn't go very high so you get a good view of the island as you fly in and out. Have your camera ready.
