★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This Lodge is magnificent in its decor and it’s surrounds. It’s the real eco deal with paper bags in the garbage bins, milk in jugs, bucket for kitchen scraps a kitchen garden and they even use the ENJO chemical free cleaning system so there is no waste or chemicals used. Lisa and Hana gave great advice and booked us for excursions to make the most of our 3 nights. Great to have shared areas in the main building at night but plenty of space on our deck and in room too. Back for my 60th. Thank you , luxury and eco you made it work

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ An outstanding place to stay on Stewart Island. Highly recommended. Amazing views from the front four rooms and the shared lounge/dining room over Half Moon Bay andOban.
The rooms are comfortable, good temperature control, nice bathrooms, good quality beds and bedding. A small fridge is big enough for a few drinks and some snacks. The shared kitchen has more coffee, tea and milk supplies.
Sustainably they don’t service rooms every day, but will do on request.
The team are the standout though. Friendly, engaging and very helpful, they can book Reql Journeys activities and will give you great advice on the island’s activities a d attractions. The host, Lisa, was delightfully down to earth and made us feel like we were at a home away from home. The other team members were welcoming and accommodating too.
Would definitely recommend and stay there again!
A quick watch out for the walk up though. I’m not overly fit and called it ‘heartbreak hill’.... though the pub does have a courtesy car and there is a taxi... walked it twice a day though!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Wow. Just the best. Morning breakfast was especially enjoyable on a large table with lovely layout of cereals , toast, bagels and chance to talk to the other guests. Unlimited fast wifi and perfect shower and bed. At 200 a night it was worth paying the extra to get such a nice place for our 2 day stay.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ An absolutely stunning place to stay. Just the right amount of elevation to provide sensational views, and still an easy walk from the Oban shops. Lisa was so helpful and knowledgeable about the island - and had some great tips on where to spot some wildlife. The communal dinning and lounge area was beautiful arranged and very comfortable. And the perfect place to start the day with breakfast.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Spent 2 days and nights. A beautiful spot, fantastic views with amazing bird life right at your finger tips. Our hostess, Lisa is very charming and makes you feel right at home straight away. Only been there a few hours and realized that our time on the island wasn't going to be long enough. Highly recommend.
