Stratosfare Restaurant & Bar - Fairy Springs

Lovely food and staff. All you can eat where they will bring whatever plate you want from the menu as much as you want. Food was of very high quality. Below are some photos of aged beef platter, art of the grill, and seafood platter.

Unfortunately the worst dining experience I’ve ever had. I booked the premium dining package ($188 NZD, window seat, 1hr 45min buffet) for my wife and I over the phone 2 days prior. The slot we ended up booking was for 830pm (sunset). We arrived on time (830pm), we were seated, ordered cocktails and literally 20mins in, the Manager on duty (Nitesh) approaches our table and informs us that we’re the last guests and that they wanted to close up soon.. this really made us (paying customers) feel like we were an inconvenience to him and the staff. At this point I was a little taken back by his audacity but didn’t want it to ruin our evening. A short 10 mins later (30 mins into our 1.45hr dinner) we see the Stratosfare staff packing up parts of the buffet we wanted to eat e.g. the sushi, seafood etc (see photos attached). It was clear they wanted us to hurry up and we did not feel welcome.. we lost our appetite and felt really uncomfortable going up to get more food from the buffet we paid good money for - a truly terrible dining experience. I immediately asked for the manager (Nitesh), explained to him that we were unhappy with the service and asked for a full refund. To my surprise, Nitesh was very defensive and couldn’t understand why we were unsatisfied based on the logic above. It took several cycles of going back and forth to agree on the refund and he very reluctantly gave it to us the end (part refund - $160, minus the gondola ride). To the Stratosfare Rotorua staff: My feedback to Nitish was clear - do not book customers in at the end of the night if they are going to be rushed out. Also, Nitish needs a few more years in customer service, he struggles to empathise and put himself in the customer’s shoes - a very shortsighted and selfish management style. To future guests: Don’t book the evening buffet slot, you will pay a lot of money for a substandard service, be made to feel like an inconvenience and be rushed out by the manager on duty so everyone can go home early.

Highly recommend this place. The view is spectacular. The food is just amazing and the service is amazing and friendly. It is just a one-of-a-kind experience.

Wow, what an absolutely marvelous dinner we had here on 04/02...the food was fresh, delicious and served professionally...the service was impeccable...I have had buffet on a few occasions here before but due to Covid restrictions, we were served by the waiters, which in my opinion, took the experience to the next level...I wil for sure be back again.

Lovely meal, exceeded expectations! Great friendly service from all members of staff and stunning views! High chairs for the babies available too, very happy guests.

Stratosfare Restaurant & Bar Rotorua As an ADS-acrreditated tour guide, i used to come here a lot and it was all packed and crowed. This visit after many years of Covid global pandemic, the rest is open, staff service is good, food is good, view is unchaged, the only changed is the emptiness of the rest. Lots of locals doing the Luge next door but they seldom dine in here. I hope one day this place can be popular again. Incredible food. Very good price for what you get. The guy working the bar around 7pm on the 23rd of April was the best bar tender. He loved his job so much and was super helpful and knowledgable. Definitely needs a pay rise!! The buffet was incredible and every food there was fresh and tasty. Including the deserts!

A wonderful place to dine in! It was my first time trying Skyline Rotorua's Stratosfare buffet dinner, and we had a fantastic experience there? We enjoyed the delicious dishes they made, especially the garlic butter prawns (we ordered It again and again?), slow-cooked beef ribs and lamb chops? The platters were delivered personally to our table, very hygienic?? We really appreciate the amazing customer service that Terry offered, and thanks for making a 'congratulations' card for us! Very lovely❤️
