★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A gorgeous property with friendly staff, who will help you even in the middle of feeding their lovely dog!!! Have stayed here twice already and will be my go to place when in tekapo. A good place to stay at with kids as well, they have Guinea pigs, rabbits and beautiful pair of chickens you can feed. A tennis court in the back, with option to get the equipment from reception, a shared kitchen, ensuite rooms as well as backpacker style options. Although not on the lakefront, it's amazing value for money, and a 5 min walk to the lakefront/restaurants and the main Street.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great location. Super clean, good beds, good kitchen and showering facilities. Lovely casual atmosphere. It's not unusual sometimes in Tekapo for people to return from Night Sky trips after 1am. I would stay here again .

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Richard is amazing as we left a few things and he got it and even offer to courier... Andrea and her team are awesome... everything we needed for the night were well provided, warm bed, lovely sized room... arranged access after hours... so gutted to have left early morning and not meeting our hosts... but we will definitely be back when we are in Tekapo!!! Going the extra several miles!!! We have never seen such hosts..we are truly grateful and blessed!!!

Note: if you're sensitive to chemical smells or have other chemical sensitivities, there was a very chemically smell in the room we stayed in (because of Covid rules I'm sure, but just a heads up for sensitivities)!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Tailor Made backpackers was great for our recent large group booking for 9 days. We had the space to spread the group amongst the various accommodation types so parents and kids were happy. The rooms were inviting, beds comfy and warm. The kitchen was great, just needed a large stockpot for the daily porridge! The animals were a pleasant surprise and welcome distraction at the end of a long day racing in Twizel. The grounds were welcoming and relaxing. Richard, our host was wonderfully accommodating to all our requests. The perfect place to stay.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This lovely hostel makes you feel right at home, the rooms are well kept along with the common rooms. The kitchen is large enough to cook meals without getting in the way of others and plenty of cutlery and cook wear available (just need a potato masher) the lounge is nice with a fireplace and plenty of seating too. The beds are comfortable and plenty of bathrooms. Location also great as only a few minutes walk from the grocery stores.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We stayed for two nights in December with our 3 children while biking around the South Island. We had a fabulous dorm room with lots of space to spread out. The room from warm and spotlessly clean. Richard was very friendly and let us store our bikes in the office, which was much appreciated with rain predicted. The kitchen was probably the best kitchen we came across during our 10 weeks of touring. It was huge, immaculately clean and had an excellent range of high-quality equipment to use. This was brilliant as it's difficult to carry everything we need on our bikes. The location was great - very quiet, but just a few minutes walk from town. And, our children loved the animals too. Excellent value for money. Thank you!
