โ โ โ โ โ I from the States traveling through and site seeing. I had lunch at a cafe across the street. WiFi, restrooms available. Things I take for granted until itโs not available. Easy parking as well. Great place to stop for a lunch break from the road.

โ โ โ โ โ Great place to visit/use.
Easy to find hub in centre of Taumarunui. Plenty of off-street parking nearby. Can be accessed from three directions. Walk passed iconic info notices and boards, and clean toilets even before you enter 'the info Centre'.
Apart from some almost museum grade collections and large model, there are several freestanding displays with kiwiana and other trinkets, toys and memorabilia. The extensive range of free brochures and pamphlets inform you of local, regional and national events and highlights.
Local people with great local knowledge have pleasant, friendly and helpful disposition. They also capably and happily organise/book accommodate, travel, events and almost anything you could possibly be interested in.
Mini museum 30m away. Dining options across the road.

โ โ โ โ โ Guy was not the smallest bit interested in providing information or excited about activities along the forgotten highway. If we wouldn't have read into it he would have convinced us NOT to go. It was beautiful and a great experience. People at these kind of post should be inspiring about their local activities! Such a shame

โ โ โ โ โ Wanted to get there and have a chat about where to go and what to do, as we'll as buy some souvenirs. We checked the websites and they all said it was open on the 27th of December but it was all locked up at 11am, went back later around 12 and again at 1pm but still locked up. Tried calling but no answer.
