★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Nice place. Have to visit. But have to know and to be Ready to walk around 3km....up and down.....45 minutes.
On the top point, don't have parking place. Only near by... 5-7 min walk, can to find private parking - 10$ full time.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Landmark giant rock at Cathedral Cove, standing by the shore. Not far away from the stairs, and you can see the rock from the sea cave. Beautiful beach, big waves, the scenery around is simply beautiful. Do check the tide hours before visiting to avoid disappointment.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Dreamlike beach right on the other side of Cathedral Cove arch. On the trek to Cathedral Cove there's a fork in the path to an elevated lookout... The views from up there at fantastic!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Freestanding pillar on the other side of the 'cathedral' which, if you read the geographical blurb, was once a sea-cave/'cathedral' before erosion took its toll and the roof collapsed and it became a freestanding pillar. Amazing views and the beach is possibly less crowded as unless you come at low tide you can't get to this beach without getting your feet wet.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ So beautiful, you’ll definitely be happy you made the effort to come. The trek is easy for anyone with basic fitness, carry water and snacks though (not for trek but when you get there). Safe swimming but only go out of your depth if you CAN swim.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The Hoho rock is very spectacular. Free standing, tall, trees on it. One of my favorite places in NZ. Absolutely worth the visit. It is best to walk here, because you get much more of the nature. If you are physically not able you can pay for a boat ride here.
The cove with the beaches on each side is spectacular. There is a toilet with a window view on the southern beach. Very special too! :-) The two rocks close to the beach are tremendous also.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A beautiful eroded rock formation on one of the most beautiful and picturesque beaches in New Zealand, Cathedral Cove!
Take a few minutes to walk through the natural tunnel at the beach, and get a few photos of this famous rock formation.
It’s a popular place for tourist photos,
so you may have to wait your turn to get a few pictures if the beach is busy.
It’s an easy 10 minute walk from the parking area down to the beach, where you will see the tunnel and the view of Te Hoho rock through the tunnel
