About The Fringe Bar
The Fringe Bar is an entertainment venue where anything could happen, and every night is always different. Stand Up Comedy, Improvisation, Sketch Comedy,Musical Comedy,Theatre, Poetry,Karaoke, Live Music, Homegrown Film Screenings.
In August 2013 we moved from our former site in Cuba Street to Allen St and have developed more events and action. The Fringe Bar can deliver all your entertainment needs. In recent years The Fringe Bar has emerged as the home for Wellington comedy.
The Fringe Bar has been honored to host many of the shows connected to the New Zealand Fringe Festival, and the New Zealand International Comedy Festival. These festivals see the Fringe Bar turn into a thriving hub for many artists, crew and their audiences.
The Fringe Bar fun continues into the early hours of the morning with punters singing ‘Total Eclipse of the Heart’, ‘Mustang Sally’ and hundreds of other Karaoke hits. An excellent drinks menu, friendly staff, and private functions are all features of this unique venue. We have a an excellent kitchen and can deal with all your catering needs too! ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This bar is a lovely spot to slip away for a mid-week drink after work or to blast out some vintage Karaoke tunes on a Friday night. Good prices on the beer and great quality on the cocktails. Can't go wrong popping in here for a night!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This has happened before. Turn up for a civil time and you get turned away for being a couple instead of a group. My mate and I turned up just now and we were turned away because only groups are allowed to use karaoke. We were allowed to go in to gamble on the casino machines but we weren't allowed into the karaoke area because according to staff "we make more money from groups and single gamblers". Just another nail in the coffin for Wellington's increasingly low hospitality standards. Its happening all over the place in Wellington. Disgraceful.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Good on the management supporting stand up ,"raw meat" comedy night. Went last night. Every monday 8pm for a good couple of hours. Get yourself a drink and support the comedians 8 or 9 in an evening each having a slot. 8.50 entry on line or ten bucks at the door. Where can you get entertainment for that price,
