The waitress was lovely and quick but getting a drink delivered very slow.Been 3 times now and so disappointed with the food......only had one meal that was just ok. The fish and chips were the worst I've had...all looks good but tastes terrible. In fact 4 of us went and no one enjoyed their meals. The big breakfast, eggs Benedict and open steak sandwich.Sorry we won't be back, will make our local Tuakau or Puke. I do hope you read your reviews and make the necessary changes. Sorry I couldn't leave a better review.

Others had salmon and shrimps, no taste at all and the sauce was bland. We paid 20 dollars for a small size bowl of salmon and shrimps and salad. It was disussing, we didn't complain but we will definitely not be going back again.

E	Ellie Ellie on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Reviewing the restaurant. We ordered drinks, starters and mains. The drinks were served promptly but my wine glass still have someone else’s lipstick on it. Cutlery also wasn’t properly cleaned. Starter was very underwhelming - bacon wrapped scallops (do not recommend these, terrible) mains were probably the best part of the whole meal, although still very average. Overall 2/5 exp mainly over the cleanliness of this place, cobwebs everywhere, dirty glass ware, dirty water jugs, dirty cutlery.
P	Pamela Figueroa on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Restaurant + Portside Restaurant attached to it is the best: amazing, lovely staff! Food-wise, Highly recommend the mussels and fettuccine! Accommodation: The building and rooms are very dated but very clean - no bugs or smell at all. It's all shared bathroom for all rooms. The room we stayed in has a sink in the corner - very old school! The doors/windows don't feel too secure but nothing happened to our stuff so I guess it's ok! Be aware that it is VERY LOUD because of the downstairs pub (it is like the music is right outside our door, no kidding!). It quieted down at 12.30 midnight. Car alarms and beer bottles being disposed woke us up at about 7AM. It's very warm but they have a communal fan that they will let you borrow for the room. Come with the right expectations from a very old building + great cleanliness and you won't be disappointed. Looking forward to coming back to the restaurant - a great way to support local!

Swift efficient waiting staff brought us delicious food , freshly prepared with a smile and an (unnecessary) apology for the long wait which actually wasn't long at all! Couldn't recommend this place highly enough. Will.make a point of stopping in every time we are in the area.
