★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Stayed here in early 2013 - lovely family run hostel with good facilities. Arrived late on a last minute booking - was travelling alone but they really made me feel at home there.
Had an absolutely stunning evening dinner in the pop-up restaurant they ran just adjacent to the hostel with excellent locally sourced ingredients where possible.
Definitely worth a visit if in the area. Would recommend the restaurant even if you are just passing - was only open certain evenings I think so may be worth checking their days/times in advance.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is one awesome shared accommodation. The kitchen is superbly maintained. Being Indian vegetarian I was bit apprehensive hut it turned out to be a great place. Morning views are awesome.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great hostel, feels like a home. The bathroom and the bedroom looked really new and were super clean. The restaurant next to the hotel was really nice too and from the same owner. We had dinner there two nights in a row and it was great. Thank you for everything ☺️

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Thanks for the clean room, bedding, toilet and bathroom. It has good facilities, friendly people and like a home. As the kitchen shares the same space, the living room is oily and smelly after cooking though.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Lovely little family-run place. Stayed in a dorm which was perfectly comfortable and had electric blankets in every bed. Lounge kitchen area was well equipped and very comfortable with a log-burning stove. Restaurant next door, run by the same people, does excellent pizza. Plenty of parking. Really enjoyed our stay here.

Gutted we stayed a night the restaurant wasn't open as I've heard great things. The fresh made bread it the kitchen made up for it and such great hospitality.
Would recommend to anyone coming through Murch.
Also, book though their site to get to support them more ?

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ My friends and I stayed here a night on our way up to do the Heaphy Track. Cosy, clean and tidy. Good communal area and I really appreciated the complimentary breakfast! We also had pizza at The Cow Shed which hit the spot.
