★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We were due to stay here on Sunday and monday nights. We had to pay by bank transfer as they do not have efpost not a major problem then we were shown to our room it smelt very musty but was visually clean. We were shown how to use the heater then told it only works from sunset to sunrise. We were told that we are not cold and won't want a heater outside these times. We had an issue with that and asked if we could have a heater because we would get cold. This request was refused. At this point l suggested we wouldn't be staying under these conditions. We were told we could have a refund but couldn't get it until Monday. I asked for them to put this in wrighting but was then told it could be Wednesday. So reluctantly accepted this. Wednesday comes and no refund until I contact them on Wednesday evening. I would not suggest this establishment to any of my friends

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It's a standard backpacker but if you compare to others in NZ it's lacking a better quality to its services. It's not very cleaned. Kitchen needs improvement. Fridges, toaster and microwave is old and not working well. Room in the back are noisy as there's a wood workshop by the place. With some improvement this place can be very good.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Clean backpackers, sensibly priced and comfortable spacious rooms. Nice fire in the well stocked kitchen area for those cold fall nights. Also amazing views of the mountains.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We really loved this little place. Great sized room. Slightly sparse could off used a table or at least some bedside stands. Otherwise everything else was great. Kitchen very clean & well stocked with utensils. Very friendly and helpful staff.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Really friendly staff, the rooms were nice, clean and warm. The beds were very comfy (one of the best nights sleep I've had in a while). It is in a good location, perfect for if you don't have a car with you.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We booked a room with a double and bunks. Room very clean. Hosts had heater on in the room for us as they knew we were arriving late.
Lovely welcome. Great value for backpacker rates. Loved the hot shower when it was too chilly outside! Would certainly stay again.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Room smelt of must, drips of blood on curtain, carpet and bathroom sink?very unprofessional, only 3 car parks so had to park on road for he few nights we stayed, (does not state on website ,off-street parking) no jug in room only a mini fridge, kitchen looks like it's from the 1970's, appliances and all definitely needs a good makeover or clean at least. Overall would have gotten a better night sleep in my van
