★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Pretty solid backpackers accomodation. Clean and tidy, with added bonus of a pool and spa! The bed was not the best, but the kitchen was great and this awesome system of a box for each room in the fridge, which we really liked! Clean and tidy and friendly staff.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I honestly don't know why this place has only 4.5 rating! They have the friendliest staff ever. One of the most hygienic bagpackers, staff really love their work. We went to Mount Fyffe and they called us to let us knot that we have got an upgrade because there was a big group beside our dorms. They didn't want us to be exhausted after the hike. Not only that, but they kept the room heated for us when we returned from the home. They have got amazing boards and all the booklets one will need to decide on with the activities in Kaikoura. Would recommend this to everyone.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great stay! The lodge had all the essentials and made it easy to stay with two family members and a dog (pet friendly yay!). We were heading up Mt Fyffe the next morning so the lodge had everything we need to have dinner that night and prepare breakfast in the morning. Easy, convenient and would definitely stay again.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Good! Comfortable beds and easy to book. Kitchen was a little under equipped, missing spatulas, pans, cooking oil etc.
If you are looking for a cosy and quaint backpackers this is more of a budget ad-hoc feeling place. It’s all good - just set your expectations right.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Fantastic place, great service and beautiful views. Unfortunately we arrived late and left early so didn't get a chance to thank the staff who went out if their way to help. A minor mix up with the booking was met with fast, friendly service and an unexpected though greatly appreciated room upgrade. Thank you!
Rooms were clean, showers hot, kitchen facilities great and ambience lovely.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 4 bed dorm was spacious and clean with comfy, quiet, and sturdy wooden bunks (I hate metal ones), a multi board and large mirror. Was a little cold so would have been good to have a warm blanket, I couldn’t see any around but I also didn’t ask. There was no lockable storage in the room. Wifi was great when it worked but would sometimes disconnect. Nice big kitchen with everything you need. Tv in common room had free streaming services (Netflix, neon etc). Great showers!!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Good place for the price, friendly staff. If I had one recommendation, the showers are like being blasted by a water gun on a tank. I hate to imagine how much water was wasted in even my frugal two minute cold shower.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I stayed in a Standard 4 Bed Mixed Dorm. I loved it even though our stay was only for 14 hours. I must appreciate the team who ensured my tripod stand was kept safe for three weeks until I realised I had forgotten the tripod at Dusky and facilitated the return via courier. Thank you, team Dusky! We will definitely visit again. :) Cheers
