We had a great experience with The Moving Company, on a move from Auckland to Tauranga. Samson and the rest of the team were friendly, polite, very quick, and did a terrific job packing our goods, wrapping furniture, loading everything and unloading everything. Nothing got lost and nothing was broken. I would recommend The Moving Company to anyone considering a move in NZ

Initially it's Rav the customer services manager who organized our move preparation and coordination in Auckland, and she did an amazing job. Her communication was clear, efficient, she was friendly, proactive and swift to reply, really efficient. Then on the moving date her team arrived to pack up and fill the container. They took care of our stuff with a great attitude, working hard but always with a smile. This really helped us to relax as we knew we were in good hands. Arriving in Christchurch we were informed about when our container would arrive and when it will go into storage. I was even able to pick up one thing I left inside the container during the storage period, which was really important to us. The delivery of the container was smooth, painless and really quick, the team again did a really good job and was very friendly too. Overall The Moving Company has done a fantastic job and we're really happy with the high level of service the team have provided. Their professionalism and efficiency have really made it easier for us to relocate to the South Island and we highly recommend them for your next move, it was a top job. 5 stars well deserved!

I just wanted to thank you and the amazing team of movers who came yesterday. It has been such a great hassle free experience with The Moving Company so far and we are very thankful. You yourself have been helpful and patient every step of the way, thank you! We also had a fantastic moving team yesterday Tom, Hemi and a quiet third gentlemen whose name I never got. They were all incredibly polite, respectful, efficient, and just lovely. Tom is also an outstanding driver, negotiating a tricky driveway other drivers have panicked over. Please know how thankful we are and please, if you can pass on our thanks to the moving team. We will recommend you to other people for certain.

We used The Moving Company for an international relocation and couldn't have been more unhappy. If I could give it 0 stars I would. If you're moving internationally DO NOT use this company. The tears and distress, awful emails, accusations and maliciousness we have experienced from this company is very real and happened to us over the past several months. Go with one of the big professional movers like Grace or Crown, you'll be grateful you did, and the price will be the same, especially if you use your own marine insurance. We have moved 4 times internationally and have never experienced anything as unprofessional as this move with The Moving Company. They failed to understand our issues and complaints from day one, their crew were constantly late and unprofessional and as we went up the chain of command to try to get someone to help us the greater the negativity and more antagonistic the conversations became. We were totally on our own with this company, and the rudeness and stress their people in charge have caused us has taken its toll, and it will for you as well if you use them. Just don't, I can't stress it enough. The packing crew's mantra from day one was "a favor deserves a favor" which they mentioned to us daily, (meaning buy them a case of beers). We decided not to pack a mattress and asked the crew to leave it in the garage instead of packing on the truck, the packers response was "my muscle isn't for free, do it yourself." It was a stressful miserable experience at the time of the pack, and our goods were handled with the same attitude. Take a look at how my clothes arrived (photos) despite my asking for them to be placed on hanging racks and being told they would be shipped on hanging racks. The bolts which held our beds together were just thrown loose in boxes, not wrapped in tape or marked, just loose so beds could not be assembled at our destination. Almost every piece of furniture had large amounts tape directly adhered to the furniture, After the first day of our pack the crew turned up later and later, up to an hour and a half late at times. This is extremely stressful when you have 3 children and you're packing and selling a house and moving country. When we called the office their response was "the GPS isn't working in that truck today, they'll be there soon". Moving is stressful enough without having to deal with a company like this. There is no leadership and they attitude towards their clients is appalling. I can' t stress enough, do yourselves a huge favor and use another company, especially if you're going international. And if your company is relocating you internationally like ours did, show HR this review and tell them this is why you do not want to use this company for your move and insist on another company. Also remember the guy who comes to see you to quote on your move doesn't have anything further to do with your move, he's just there to sell you the services, or he was in our case. You'll get a completely separate crew and you'll be on your own after that. Use another company, you'll be grateful you did.

We had to arrange our move very quickly and deal with all those stresses of moving. From the quote to the packing and the removal of our household items was superb - our packer was simply exceptional and the guys who had to remove everything from our house need medals as we had a steep driveway and were just amazing. Thank you so much. Only comment is that the delivery did not go so smoothly - but we got there in the end and the guys on the ground moving out stuff were great. My advice is to ensure a visit by the local office is carried out to alleviate issues on the day. Overall though would happily recommend The Moving Company.

RUN FOR YIUR LIFE Damaged my house, damaged my furniture, and then ripped us off after the job charging more than double the quote. Was verbally abused by the owner Greg Williamson for daring to ask for an explanation. PS: He also said he'll just buy more fake reviews to bury mine, so folks this guy needs to be avoided. WATCH OUT FOR THESE GUYS The worst moving experience ever!

Initially things went well, prompt responses to emails etc. Things changed once our items had been picked up. We dealt with a lady called Sarah who wouldn’t respond to emails or phone calls. She didn’t follow through on things she said she would do. In terms of the actual move, we had a fair bit of stuff damaged, items had sellotape applied directly to the surface which left marks that we have been unable to get off. I wouldn’t recommend using the Moving Company.

Just an all round great company to deal with! We were moving from Auckland to Christchurch with our goods going into storage for 5 months while we built a house. The price was very competitive, the communication clear and responsive and TMC delivered exactly what they said they would, when they said they would - excellent, especially given the disruptions around Covid-19! The moving crews both ends were excellent & our Account Manager (Patrick) was really good to deal with. We highly recommend The Moving Company :)
