★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great location from which to explore the Ruapehu district.The Old Post Office was cosy and warm, well equipped, with lots of reminders of a bygone era. Especially enjoyed our morning coffees on the sunny front porch and rugging up around the fire pit at night to toast marshmellows.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Stunning accommodation, all the decor is so well chosen and fitted! Sauna and hot tub are lovely to soak in after exploring the surrounding area (Ohinetanga track just down the road is a beautiful spot to overlook the Whakapapa river). Kitchens are spacious and large enough to cater for the group we had. Locals are super friendly, and the place is in a perfect position for a wee getaway no matter where in the North Island you're coming from.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ spent some time staying here over New Years 2021 and was absolutely amazed by the experience! the whole house has a very authentic vintage old school feel and is so beautifully decorated! also loved the outside amenities and found it so easy to relax in this peaceful setting - will definitely be recommending the lodge ?
