I enjoyed my visit here, it was a lovely warm and sunny day, the place had a few people but wasn't too busy and I wasn't in a hurry. The toastie I bought was great, the coffee was a good strength, and everything arrived quickly and hot. The service was great too. Prices weren't bad. The rest of the food in the cabinets all looked pretty good too, made it hard to choose. I bought a couple of steak pies cold to take away, unfortunately they didn't live up to their appearance. The pastry was very nice, sadly there was very little actual meat (three tiny pieces in each) , mostly gravy. What filling there was, tasted good. Food I've bought on other occasions has been very nice, and I'll definitely be back.

An unexpected find hidden away around the corner. Very helpful and friendly staff. We had a panini and a date scone. The panini was stuffed full, fresh and appropriately heated. The date above was packed with dates and melted in the mouth. Both were delicious. Highly recommended.

15/7/21. Ordered Chicken pie cold to take away. Appealing appearance, but I always remove the 'lid' and check the contents before heating/eating. Very disappointing! A few shreds of rather dry chicken meat had been sprinkled on the top of a rather sludgy thick layer of some vegetable goo - gravy/carrot/ other? Chicken content was nowhere near the 25% required in NZ Food Standards regulations. This should not be labelled/sold as a 'chicken' pie. I don't know if the beef pie has the same issue or not - a thick layer of nondescript gloop with a few scattered pieces of the supposed meat ingredient? Try it yourself next time you go there .. buy a pie to eat in or go, but ask to have a look under the lid first.

Sister Jean wanted to go there and I obliged by taking her. Jean of Mother Brown fame (goat) enjoyed both food and nosense from older brother. She will go there again.

Just googled this cafe, and drive out of my way to go there, as it said, closing 5.30, only to get there and on the door it says closes 2.30 on a Saturday. Absolutely frustrating especially with the price of fuel. Change your hours on Google search! Very very poor.

Nice little cafe, good choice of sweet and savory cabinet food. I had an espresso truffle and an Almond milk latte which came to $9.50 so probably on the more expensive side but it was good.
