Had the fish and chips, the fish was frozen. You pay top dollar ($26) and get frozen fish, I wouldn't bother going here again

Start our day with a big breakies and coffee on sides before strolling and roaming fantastic views of Raglan like Bridal Veil Falls, Wind Farm and Manu Bay and before heading back to our accommodation and we had dinner of yummy Dal and Butter Chicken Curry at the Wharf Kitchen recommended by accommodating local here in Reglan. Cheers

Extremely overpriced for the average food you’re served. We were super disappointed because we finally wanted to have a good meal out and were happy to splash out on a delicious dinner, but this was not the place to do that. We ordered the lamb shank, garlic and herb chicken and the sirloin, all with mash and vegetables + a side of curly fries. We were disappointed by every meal, except the curly fries. To start with the vegetables are frozen vegetables from a packet with no seasoning. The mash was very basic and had gravy on top. The addition to gravy helped make the meals less dry but it was very average. The lamb shank was extremely chewy and hard to get off the bone that I could barely eat it. The chicken and the steak were both bland and dry and there was a massive piece of fat on the steak. The fact that we each paid around $40 (including a drink each) to be fed dry, chewy, tasteless meat and frozen vegetables is absolutely appalling. Some of the staff were really friendly, though their outdoor heaters weren’t working and they were going to move us inside and then forgot about us. Would not recommend for anyone who wants to eat a decent meal and doesn’t want to walk away feeling sick!

My wife, daughter and myself spent a lovely few days at The Silos Apartment's over Queens Birthday weekend. The Wharf Kitchen and Bar restaurant is just across the road. We dined there each day, no need to go into Raglan to try and find parking near a restaurant. Every dining experience at the restaurant was enjoyable with exceptional quality food. The staff were friendly and attentative. The owners Pjay and Ann were very kind and considerate. When I explained that I had mouth ulcers Pjay modified my meal reducing the level of spices. The Indian dishes on the menu are extremely good. There is a good view of the Harbour from the deck.

An end to a blissful day in Raglan. The food was great and ticked all the boxes.. The staff were young, enthusiast and kind. We especially loved the huge bottle of Waikato beer on the table - a blast from the past? You forgot to ask us about desserts - next time?

The Wharf kitchen is perfectly placed by the pier with stunning views of the water. The Fish (Snapper) & Chips ordered was good. But a few things were definitely missing, the lightness of a beer battered β€œcrumbed” fish, there was only one portion of fish where usually for that price it would usually come with two. I didn’t like how I needed to pay an additional $1 for a crumbed fish (which usually fish and chips it’s already battered), and the little sauces were also a dollar extra each. Maybe for a takeaway option absolutely, but we were dining there and still needed to pay for those. A bit silly. No option to have it on the side or anything. Fish and chips were tasty nonetheless.

Beyond horrible. Unfortunately the owners have tried to execute a cuisine they are not familiar with. This has resulted in plates my dog would not eat. Sadly, I felt they probably know how to create fantastic food with delicious flavours that I would love to eat, but I sense they feel they need to try and create food fitting to β€œkiwis”. What I believe they need to do is create the food they love and therefore probably really good at, and then I have no doubt the customers would flow in.

Our first burger was raw in the middle so we got a second one. But just before we bit into it we noticed a big blue fly melted in the cheese!! And to top it off they forgot to give the kids free ice creams like it said in the menu... We got the burger for free and they apologized but definitely won't be going back there!! The chef is clearly not a chef, more like a grandpa that came out to apologize. Very nice lady at the cashier. Very inexperienced waiter. I clearly suggest they re vamp the restaurant, get some young fresh ideas in, and get a experienced chef and waiter. Even the music was old fashioned.?
