About UP Surf Coaching Raglan
The 3 day course was awesome, I was pleasantly surprised with how I progressed over the three days to riding some unbroken waves. I would recommend this to anyone looking to learn to surf or advance from some basic skills as Andrew is such a good teacher. Having struggled with my pop up technique by myself, in the first 20 minutes of the lesson Andrew gave a very logical, clear explanation of how to do it, it sort of blew me away at how easy it was after that. I feel really confident now to head out around my home town and practice – thanks Andrew!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I just finished a 5-day beginners course and highly recommend it to anyone who wants a solid and fun way to start their surfing adventure!
I attended surf lessons before but was still struggling out on the water, Andrew helped me to get rid of the bad habits I already had and then progress surprisingly quickly for just a 5-day course. Every day we built on top of the previous one and learnt some new skills (e.g. taking off on the green waves, taking off at an angle, steering the board etc.).
You can expect to learn enough stuff to be able to practice on your own for weeks/months to come.
You can also expect a lot of attention since there are only 5 people in the group and Andrew helps everyone equally.
It was an incredible experience, got me really hooked up on surfing and was heaps of fun! Thanks a lot Andrew :)

He was able to continously improve my technique and wave selections and by day 3 I was catching almost every wave I attempted and felt in control of the direction of the board. The smaller classes means you get more one on one coaching and can improve quicker. I would definitely recommend and I will be back for more coaching!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I really enjoyed the course. Andrew was the man and a good coach. He shared some great tips on how to improve as a novice surfer. Also, the weather and my other class mates Soph and Dave were super nice and we all encouraged each other throughout the 3 days.
I would definitely recommend this course to any beginners and novice surfers out there.
