About Tongariro Lodge
The heart of the lodge has comfortable lounges, open fires and trout fishing trophies of the past adorning the walls. The true atmosphere of the Lodge is best experienced in front of an open fire over a four course meal carefully prepared by our chefs and served in style by our friendly staff in one of our two pleasant dining rooms.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ True idyllic surroundings and extremely comfortable accommodation. Super clean and tidy. A must stay.
All the staff were excellent and they made us all feel very welcome and special.
Food wise: Excellent lamb rump from the restaurant matched with a first-class fig pudding.
We will be back.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We've just had 10 guys stay here for four nights for a fishing trip and the lodge has been outstanding. The staff were great helping us organise our trip and were friendly and helpful on arrival. The two villas we stayed in were warm and spacious with lovely open living areas and recently renovated bathrooms. The open fires were great at night and the wood was topped up each day for us. It was amazing being able to wander to fishing pools right by the lodge and come back for lunch. Our final evening at the restaurant was a stand-out event. I have stayed and fished in many places and I thoroughly recommend Tongariro Lodge. Everyone who came suggested we book in again for next year.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I was denied accommodation at 26 DEC due to lack of vaccination. In doing so, I was provided with a valid NEGATIVE COVID test. I drove for 4 hours from Auckland with two kids to celebrate my birthday but have to come back to Auckland.
My family and I really like your place and it was the third time when we come back to your hotel, but we are extremely disappointed. I understand that restaurant can't provide contact less service. However it is possible when you rent a villa. I think it is ridiculous, unfair and ILLEGAL. Moreover, two announts were withdrawal from my account!!!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very very cool little place, we were checked in super quickly, and then came to the restaurant with food that would challenge some top restaurants, especially in Taupo, worth the half hour travel. We especially loved the family feel that we got with everything we did during our stay.
