Food was not bad. Hotpot was a bit too much pepper but overall not a bad restaurant.

Excellent food Very fast Yes I think they are open till 4am. Everyone else in the restaurant was Chinese Huge servings, one main is enough for 2 or 3 to share. We massively over ordered. Highly recommend the calimari and chilly chicken. I found the price to be extremely reasonable given the portions. One of the best cheap eats in Auckland. Despite the sign on the front they are not open for Yum Cha. My daughter ordered the trio of pork, expecting something a 5th of the size, great roast pork but order it for a table as it needs to be eaten quickly. Recommend you order two entries for 4 people and order one main at a time, it comes super fast. The service is a bit "short" but that is more authentic Chinese service , after the meal the hostess was very happy to chat. We nearly didn't go in, but very happy we did. Many thanks guys,

Tried the famous Buddha Jumps Over the Wall (Fo Tiao Qiang) Hot Pot with abalone and shark fin as well as scallops, sea cucumber and shiitake mushrooms in rich chicken soup base. Seems they missed Jin Hua Ham according to some recipe. The taste is not as good as I had in China. The concern I have is Fo Tiao Qiang is a slow cooked. How can you get the flavour for 20 or 30 mins cooking? The service is OK however, some smoke was blown to indoor as smokers are allow to smoke just outside on the steps.

Perfect for winter days, hot soup and hotpot~ There are 4 choices of hotpot base to chose from, we had the Chicken&Pork tripe soup as base. A lot meaty than I thought, and very flavourful. You don't need to order too much extra if there isn't many of you. Portion size was decent too. Make sure you drink the siup before placing other ingradients, it will change the flavour...

Food: (4/5) Had the Fotiaoqiang-the steamed abalone with shark’s fun and fish maw in broth, marinated chicken feet, cold fish skin, braised beef offal and clay pot rice. Highly recommend the braised beef offal and clay pot rice, super delicious. The only downside of this place was a bit pricey. Service: (3/5) They’re a bit understaffed. We had to look for the waiters to refill the water and tea.

Busy hotpot restaurant, a bit noisy when some table got drunk. Fotiaoqiang isn’t really the real thing, just soup with some seafood. I felt the soup had too much MSG, I was thirty for a very long time after the meal. Average $100 per person, bit pricey as well. Service is good though.
