I changed to a different medical center some time ago. I found the tone of their communication rude and patronizing - like talking to a naughty child. I still get communication from them (which I will put a stop to now) and the latest news letter made me wonder about their motives - patient care with dignity for all or animals directed through a tunnel to the slaughter house at the back of the building. Shameful. Best decision EVER leaving them

Although staff are friendly, I had very unusual experience with the payment system. I went to see a doctor & paid full consultation fee $57 and then another week I went there to get a blood test, and the receptionist tells me I owe them $18 from last time, my consultation was apparently 5 minutes over, and the staff said she does not know why they didn’t tell me last time. it doesn’t make sense to me, but I still paid extra fee, it is unfair for patients and an uncomfortable customer experience. Hopefully they can make some changes in the medical system.

My first time visiting Torbay Medical was getting my Covid test...It was quick and easy and the communication was clear... I tested positive.. although I am not a member, I still received 3 calls throughout my 10 days of isolation..asking how I was doing etc.. and letting me know that I was good to go on my last day..I could tell on the phone, how fatigued the voice was on the other end...I just cannot even fathom how stressed and overworked the nurses and doctors and admin are....and I really felt compelled to come and leave this review...and if any of you read this... please ignore the other negative reviews...it's so unfair to expect you to be the pinnacle of 'customer' service during such a time like this... you are doing a great job and I appreciate you..

I have never gone out of my way to write a review! However, this is the worst medical practice I have ever encountered. My daughter(8) had her first Pfizer vaccine on Sat, I called this morning as she had a big lump under her skin on the side of her neck and I called the dr and they said they had no appts and that the best they could do was a phone consult the next day later afternoon! I expressed my outrage as Shorecare had advised me to see the GP. I stated she needed to be visibly seen and checked. I then made a post on our local page and within 15 mins I had a call from the practice saying they could squeeze her in. My daughter attended and they checked her out and basically said she had a swollen lymph node and their was no reason for it and wouldn’t even consider it was the vaccine even though she has never had anything like this in her life. The admin staff and reception are awful too - I spoke to one friendly staff member once. I did my own research and apparently it can be fairly normal for lymphnodes to swell post vaccine. The drs seem totally incompetent as another time I went to a different dr my daughter had eczema and he told me to put any moisturiser on it at home - I had to push a prescription out of him for an unscented one for eczema. I signed up to Long Bay Medical and have been directed to Torbay every time. They had one other offence when my daughter was having an allergic reaction and a big foreign rash all over her face and they still wouldn’t let her go direct to a dr to try and diagnose this rash with a PHONE consult where they can’t physically see the rash and they do not offer video. My children will never go to this practice again 0/10 in so many regards

The care we received when our family had Covid was great. Very caring, thorough and professional. The team is working together really well to support the community through the virus.

Doctors and Nurses are great overall. BUT the Receptionists/Admin is absolutely useless. They are rude, unprofessional and miscommunicating w patients on the phone most of time. Can't even reach or book an appointment, as they are just sitting there and busy to chat/talk all the time. Get proper Training SERIOUSLY, and Do some proper work! I can see other people's review, feel the same way. What a shame...

Have not seen more unpleasant, grumpy reception staff than this place!! They are quite rude and think they can talk however they feel. All members of my family feel the same way. Even the nurses cannot do a proper job when liaising with test results etc. The reception staff never get it right the first time be it emailing or over the phone. Am only a patient at this clinic as it’s handy for me. The doctors are ok not the best I mean I find a couple of them quite not interested.

I appreciate with doctors and nurses. They are professional, friendly and know what to do. I recommend! HOWEVER, I feel "cold" and "in rush" when I talk to the receptionists. It is very difficult to get hold the line most of the times. Called and called and called and don't answer. For a very urgent matter, I called them at 4.50pm, the automatic answering machine said they are closed. I thought a couple times that I would want to change GP because of the receptionists.
