β β β β β Fascinating story of the first frozen meat export from New Zealand on a Victorian period farm with authentic tea and scones!

β β β β β Our family saw the memorial and sign on the side of the road and decided to head in. We were not disappointed. We found a gorgeous collection of restored Victorian farm buildings, amazing local and New Zealand history, and a team enthusiastic about the farm, the animals and willing to tell the area's story. Price was reasonable for entry and there was enough to keep our young kids interested. Well worth the stop. You won't regret it

β β β β β Great place to learn about key aspects of NZ's history, and how early settlers setup the foundation of our modern agriculture industry.

β β β β β A wonderful slice of history. Well preserved by a group who obviously take great pride in their role. The buildings are well maintained and the historical information is easy to view and understand. I visited as part of Oamaru's Victorian festival and hourly enjoyed my visit. I believe the buildings are available for events such as weddings and I could see that it would be a special place especially with accommodation so close in Oamaru. I would recommend this site to others.

β β β β β A beautiful place to stop on the way to/from Oamaru. I ordered one coffee and the man gave me 2 cups so I could share the pot of coffee with my partner. It was lovely sitting in the sun, admiring the cute cat Barney and the Victorian style building. Will definitely be back here.
