About Tulsi Contemporary Indian Cuisine

What our customers say

“… My wife an I have enjoyed the service and food at Tulsi for 3 years. We have tried most of the curries, which are always a delight. Our favourite curries, vegetable, paneer and seafood are delicious in their own unique ways. The breads hit the spot, are fresh, and with the right amount of crispy and soft… The waiters are so friendly and helpful. They always have a smile for us and are so polite…To the staff at Tulsi: Thanks for all the amazing dining experiences we have had with you!” – Rachel B

“It was Ann’s 50th birthday yesterday, so 12 or 13 of us went to your restaurant, had a lovely meal (as usual), and were even able to celebrate with a birthday cake for Ann. I want to compliment your staff who served us and looked after us last night. They were very pleasant, polite, and very willing to look after our every need last night. It was a pleasure to have them host us.” – Ken & Ann Gartner

“Over the past few weeks, I have tried numerous Tulsi pies. They are superb! The most recent was a Rogan Josh at lunchtime today and I was so satisfied with it that I’ve made a comment about it on my Facebook page. Well done!” – Graham Young

“Bought your Butter Chicken at New World Supermarket in Auckland Central… WOW! It is the best I have tasted since being in London UK, where I use to eat loads of Indian food, keep up the good work!”

The new manager is personality-kid who makes you feel welcome and special. The food seems better now too, with a richness to the sauces and nicely cooked meat or paneer. Of course it’s authentic Indian, with lots and lots of options on the menu. Oh yes….and the decor and ambience is super nice too.

Visiting Wellington from Palmerston North and I must say, BEST Butter chicken I've had. The sauce tasted rich, the meat succulent and the nann bread was very tasteful. AND to top it all off we had a WONDERFUL host/waiter/comedian/manager. Awesome night with a awesome meal. highly recommended?

Ordered platter veg and non-veg through uber. Worst packaging of the food. Wrapped the food in the aluminium foil. Packaging might be neglected if the taste had been good but worst taste of the food. Onion pakora was like they have sent the leftover pakoras. Also chicken in the non- veg platter is raw. When I ring to complaint about the food instead of entertaining on call the person on call said i am busy i will call back. And never called back

Ordered through Uber. The order arrived late, despite me being hungry, I did not enjoy it one bite. The Paneer Pakora and Paneer Nuggets were soggy, but I understand that it was due to the late delivery. However they were clearly cooked way before the Butter Chicken was ready. As for the Butter Chicken I had high expectations as it says that it was Award Winning, sadly I can not imagine what kind of award that Butter Chicken could win, while the gravy was alright the chicken in it was flavorless and dry, as if it was defrosted in a microwave and chucked into the container with the gravy after. The mango lassi had a taste of an expired milk, couldn't even finish it as each sip was giving me a stomach ache. Absolutely the worst Indian restaurants I have tried in New Zealand. Save your money and your health and go to any other place, as even Subway next door will leave you more satisfied.

Tonight was like usual, really great weekend dinner. My little girls reckon it’s the best mango lassi drinks of anywhere…..and they are hard critics. They also loved the korma.

The food here is lovely and it is always ready on time. Unfortunately the manager sees himself as a bit of a jokester and you have to joke along with him in order to get your food when you go to pick it up. Last night he took his regular jokes a bit further with me and remarked that I had lost too much weight and looked too old to be me - I must be my own mother. I cried the whole way home. I think I might still order food from here once the sting has faded, but I don't feel safe to go and pick it up any more. I'll have to send my husband instead.

This is our local, and we love popping down every other weekend. The service is great, staff is super friendly and welcoming. In particular, the frontstaff treat you like family and we love catching up with him whenever we go get dinner. It’s always a pleasure :)

Ordered from takeaway menu Rogan Josh, Butter chicken with buttered Roti and Coconut Rice. Dining in option available as well as takeaway. Good for larger groups, families, couples or if you want to eat on ya own ?. Nice and clean, staff were attentive and would order food from here again. I had been to their Johnsonville restaurant and had the same helpings and found it to be consistent with what I tasted in this miramar store apart from the Rogan Josh was slightly different to my palette although its the same recipes I was told flavor or taste could have slight variation from store to store with different chefs cooking.
