β β β β β Their customer services is very terrible, when I have problem with them they just keep waiting over the phone for hours and no one come back. They never call me back even I ask them to do. However they are highly motivate to charge you once they could without any delay,

β β β β β I'd bought a cheap mobile from overseas and couldn't get it apart to put a SIM in it. Nor could Vodafone (or Spark or 2Degrees) but they had a very good try.

β β β β β Had the most appalling and scam-like experience at Vodafone Riccarton.
I went in for a warranty claim on one of my Samsung phones which had a screen fault. However the lady who served me said the phone was outside the 12 months warranty period and I had to pay for the repairs. She then told me the screen repair cost would exceed the phoneβs value (Galaxy Note 20 Ultra 5G) so tried to talk me into buying a new phone. Regardless, I had purchased the phone on 5th December 2020 so was still within the standard 12 months Vodafone warranty period. Having my doubts, I walked out and went to Samsung Hub just around the corner to verify the warranty period. The guy at Samsung confirmed βall Samsung mobile phones are covered under 24 month warranty. Go back and tell them.β Also previously I was quoted between $650-$850 for an entire screen replacement of the phone, so regardless the value of the repair would not be exceeding if I had to pay for the repairs.
At this moment I knew I was blatantly told a lie by the sales rep at Vodafone Riccarton Store. Knowing this I confronted the sales rep but only then she said her apologies that she "didn't know". She then said she will process the warranty claims but I still had to pay a $65 deposit for sending my phone for the repair. Later on I realised that was the minimum inspection cost for phone repairs. Why would I need to pay the service fee for warranty claims?
Leaving a bad taste in my mouth I immediately called off my services and walked out of the store. I then went to Cashel Street store and made my warranty claim there. There was no hassle, no issues, no talks into new phone, and no $65 deposit for warranty claims. Comparing Riccarton and Cashel street store is night and day.
If anybody reading this had a similar experience (talked into buying a new phone for what's covered under warranty), you are not alone. Rest assured I will not be returning to Riccarton store for my Vodafone service needs.
Have reported the behaviour to the Commerce Commission.

β β β β β Unfortunately, this review is only going public because of one particular employee (R. - happy to provide full name to Manager). I have never experienced such a rude and unprofessional person! Just because of this particular person, Vodafone lost a sale AND a customer. I hope to reach the Manager of this store as I highly recommend to have a conversation with his/her staff members. Vodafone gets represented by those people and obviously (see previous reviews) I am not the only one with this bad experience.

β β β β β Vodofone is the worst company I have ever tried to deal with. Emails are ignored, call centre people are unable to deal with anything that is not totally standard, online chat sessions are started but not completed, it is impossible to call a retail shop, and it takes hours to get through to the call centre. It looks like I will have to go to one of the retail outlets in person - which will take more hours if my time

β β β β β Bought a phone on a plan and asked for a simple number change from my old provider, and the guy I was dealing with couldn't even do that properly. The Vodafone customer service people on the phone weren't much better when I tried to sort it. Offered a new plan when I just set one up and couldn't understand basic English or what I was trying to get across on the phone.
