FEES INCREASE

Due to rising costs, we unfortunately need to increase our fees. Please see the Medical Fees page for our new fees which will take effect from July 1st.

COVID19

The COVID outbreak in Wellington continues to grumble on. We are seeing people coming through on a daily basis with most folk managing with mild to moderate symptoms. We are contacting everyone of our patients that returns a COVID positive test, and remain available to support you during your illness.

Wadestown Medical Practice continues to offer regular medical services at this time so feel free to contact us if you need to make an appointment. We are offering phone and video consultations if you do not feel comfortable attending in person. If you have respiratory symptoms, please let us know when you book your appointment, so that we can schedule your appointment at the end of our sessions i.e. late morning or late afternoon.

TESTING POSITIVE FOR COVID19

When you test positive for COVID19 please do upload your result. We will then receive notification of this result from the Ministry of Health, and will contact you to see how you are getting on. ​Please do contact us if you have any questions or concerns. You can contact us during the week either by phone (04 473 7248), email [email protected] , or via your Manage My Health account. If you have recently tested positive for COVID19 and you need to contact us over the weekends please email [email protected]. One of our doctors will be in touch with you in due course. If it is a matter of urgency, please call Healthline, as we will be checking the emails only from time to time during the weekend. Only enquiries from those isolating with COVID19 will be addressed on Saturdays and Sundays, all other enquires will be addressed when the practice is open again on the Monday.

RAPID ANTIGENT TESTING AND PCR TESTS FOR COVID19

We have Rapid Antigen Test kits available for patients with symptoms consistent with COVID19 infection. We are not a distribution centre for tests ordered via the online system. Please call us if you have symptoms and need to pick up at kit.

We also provide PCR testing but this is only in exceptional cases and at the discretion of the nurses who are triaging your calls.

BOOSTER VACCINES

We will be running COVID booster vaccine clinics as of next week. The booster vaccine is available for people over 50 years or healthcare professionals over 30 years. It must be at least 6 months since your last booster vaccine or at least 100 days since you have recovered from a COVID19 illness.

FLU VACCINES

We have been vaccinating patients against influenza since April. Please ring and book an appointment with a nurse if you have not had your flu vaccine yet. Children between the ages of 5 and 12 years are now eligible for a funded flu vaccine. 

We encourage you to get a flu vaccine. Having both influenza and COVID infection at the same time may lead to a more severe illness.
