About Thorndon Medical Centre
We're closed this Friday and Monday (2nd and 5th of April) for Easter.
Registered patients are able to access our Saturday morning service at Johnsonville Medical Centre as usual.
If you need urgent medical care while we're closed you can go to the Wellington Accident and Urgent Medical Centre on Adelaide Road in Newtown. This is a walk-in service, so you don't need to make an appointment.
Otherwise we'll be back to normal services from Tuesday 6 April.
Have a great Easter break!

β β β β β Currently waiting an hour and half after when they rescheduled my appointment. Ridiculous.

β β β β β Appointments rarely run to time. I have had several appointments where I have had to wait at least 1 hour to be seen. The doctors are professional but be prepared to wait.

β β β β β Main issue is the nurse and their attitude. Yes there is a long wait time, flip side is the doctor is great!! But on balance I canβt recommend due to inefficiency /staff attitude.

β β β β β I have been attending this clinic since mid 1990s because it is convenient to work. Appointments always run late, I am currently waiting. Plus ever since Dr Mary English left about 7 years ago, there is no continuity in getting a female doctor... locums etc, never know who I'm going to see.

β β β β β I have been going to Thorndon Medical Centre and Dr Tony Crutchley for 36 years. I find them very caring, handy to the CBD, and good value for money. There is often a long wait time, but I learnt to make a booking for first thing in the morning or first thing after the lunch break. I think all caring doctors are torn between spending time with the patient in front of them and knowing there are more queuing up outside the door. One time I came with a mental list / secret agenda of several items and when I announced the second one, the doctor very abruptly said βTimeβs upβ and I said βFair enough.β Today I waited 10 minutes after my 09:45 appointment. As I waited I read a sign on the wall saying something like βIf you have several matters to discuss with the doctor, please tell the receptionist when you make a booking. We plan for 15 minute appointments.β I often wondered why my dentist (at Thorndon DC, where I have also been going for 36 years or so) can keep to time. I think it is because the human body, mind and spirit is abundantly more complex than a mouthful of teeth! Thank you TMC for being there for us ?

β β β β β Dr. Nicola Comer is my doctor at the centre. She has been very helpful and is a very kind person to talk, explains things in detail. I recommend her to the new patients.
