Be sure to check the pricing versus the webpage. The owners aren't up to play with the cost differences quoted and it pays to confirm and verfiy. Small area for placing tents and overall not a bad place to camp. Decent facilities (Toilet / Shower Block). Easy access out to beach area as well.

For a quiet night with a seaview, this is the place to go. The owner is friendly, the camping has a good kitchen and tv room. Toilet and showers are okay, not to special but everything works well, nice paintings on the wall. We were the only guest with a van and had the grass fiels for our own. It is a worth 34 dollar (powered/non powered) place. 17 dollar p.p. The small village has a restaurant, cafe and 4 square supermarket, all you need when you are travelling. The best; the beach is just a 2 minutes walk away and we enjoyed the beach so much, we could recommend it to spend some relaxing time. .

Close to beach, restaurant and 4 square. It’s quite a good camp but would recommend some upgrades namely the ablution blocks and toilets. They definitely need upgrading. Overall, it’s not too bad.

A small cheap camp but which could do with some improvements with little cost. The smaller ablutions block was shabby. No shower curtain and the water would stop more than once during a shower. Kitchen was adequate but the owner moaned about the lack of cleaning by some campers yet there are no cloths provided for cleaning the sinks. TV was broken and light bulb missing in the TV room. These are little things but it doesn't cost much to rectify even if the camping is cheap. I have been to a lot of similar camps ito cost and more is provided. Most of the camp is occupied by permanent caravans but the feel to the camp is good. Just be prepared to be woken early morning by fishermen heading out of camp for the early morning. And some of the tent sites are too close to the permanent sites if the residents are occupying them. If I ever have to stay in this town again, I would try the other campground for comparison.

Pretty relaxed and friendly camping ground so close to one of the nicest beaches in the lower north island of NZ

Tenting site is alot smaller than we thought. The kids playground is actually dangerous and should be demolished or get proper look at. the toilets and showers clean and nice. The kitchen is clean and fridges make a nice change. Take your own refuse bags as none are provided for your expensive nights tenting. Beaches are close and clean.
