Loved this tucked away free and peacefull campsite unfortunately the toilets needed to be serviced but did not ruin the weekend stay. River was great to swim in .Must bring you own water. Cell phone reception from the top of the road down .

Very easy to get to from the SH1, lots of grassy camping space, a very easy and short bush walk and a foresting road you can walk up for a longer hike. Good river swimming. All this makes a great short camping trip for the whole family. No fires, no taps, just a long drop and a shelter. Lots of bird life. Apparently gets very busy in summer with tourists, but at end of school holidays during Covid it was very quiet. To make it perfect I would have loved to be able to make a campfire, both for warmth and atmosphere, (there are clearly spots where this would pose no danger), and to have seen a bit more native bush, but this is a great option for a quick, low-overhead dose of the outdoors.

Easy access off SH1, despite this it was very quite. Nice well kept basic grounds, large open areas for tents. Amazing trails to hike around, short and long. Only has one toilet which is a longdrop, it was well maintained also. No water supply though there is a river if you don't mind boiling it yourself. Overall, 10/10. Amazing get away spot for a weekend or more.

Stayed there only for couple of hours due to not having any signal. Otherwise I would have definitely stayed longer as the area is very beautiful, unfortunately I am traveling on my own and preffer to be online ;)

Beautiful camping spot that's riverside with amazing scenery. The camping area is massive and spread out. You could easily fit 100+ tents/vehicles without it being crowded. There are amazing hiking trails nearby for all levels of fitness. The campgrounds are well maintained and clean. Falling asleep to the sound of the river and birds, awesome. 10/10

For a free campsite, not too bad. Toilet needed cleaning. And unfortunatly some people use this as the local rubbish dump. Nice Nature walks though

This is a free camping site. We stayed there in September when it was really rainy. Be careful when you walk around and drive on the grass. There was a shelter to use gas cooker which was really nice for us. Note that there is no reception (Vodafone) and rubbish bins. Toilet was not in a good condition.

Absolutely gorgeous. Great walks, saw a herd of goats, gathered lots of edible fungi, and arrived to a nice fire pit someone had made in the fire hut. Great for campervanning overnight.
