β β β β β Good to go here. You can learn about Maori culture with detailed display and natural history like fossils with free entry. If you have time, it is better to visit here.

β β β β β Can't get into the museum due to vaccine passport requirement even after the government has abandoned it. Hopefully this ridiculous policy would be abolished as it's obviously not protecting anyone.

β β β β β Awesome place with lots to see and explore. The waka area is just awesome, my kids loved checking it out and all the history around the area. They also really liked the new exhibit with the animals, especially the different poo lol. Well worth checking out and if you do have children they'll love it!

β β β β β Enthusiastic welcome which was appreciated. Large museum over two levels, with smallish gift shop. However nothing really caught my eye. Good Lindauer exhibition if you like his work. An interesting taxidermy exhibition. But otherwise I felt it was in general a little 'dry n dusty:
