About Wharewaka Point (Four Mile Bay)
Wild and ancient, the river-run mountains of the Kaimanawa Forest Park have long called to adventurers and hunters. Wild horses, sika and red deer roam the park, and the mostly untouched native beech forests are alive with native birds (including kiwi), insects, the large indigenous snail Powelliphanta marchanti, and native bats.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Such a nice cosy area, got a park for kids to play on, very close to the water, good for children to swim. Great views of Lake Taupo, feels nice to just relax here with some fish and chips. A lot less crowded then some places closer to town.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A lovely little area to sit a reflect. Nice flowers, the water looks so clear so a great place for a swim. There was toilets, water filling stations and a bbq there also which is really helpful, you can just bring your food and sit by the beautiful lake. A great place.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Beautiful place. Recommended for families, maybe for dogs too! This isn’t sand but gravel near the lake. But still, you have grass and picnic tables outdoors to enjoy the beautiful view of Taupo Lake. Not very crowded!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Loved this place especially there was a public bbq place. On our way up North, we stopped here for BBQ. There is a play center for kids. The only thing was that the wind brought lot of dust our way. However, this place was quite helpful to have a short break and continue on our journey. Sorry I forgot to take any photos.
